This is a scary story I wrote based on a nightmare I had a couple months ago. It's kinda creepy so I figured it would be good enough to upload. Enjoy.
"Good Night" By Soni CK (sonuchan92) On a clear, autumn night, a girl of roughly sixteen is getting ready for bed. Her build, average. Her appearance and lifestyle, unremarkable. Her newborn baby brother slumbers quietly in the room next to her while her parents exchange snores across the hall. She slips on her nightgown and sits in front of her vanity mirror. She runs a brush through her wavy, shoulder length locks. Once, twice, three times, a fourth. A light switch flip and a rustling of sheets later, and she is tucked comfortably in bed. Her eyes close sleepily as dreamy little thoughts begin swimming through her head. All is quiet for several moments. Suddenly, her bedroom window slides open and the room fills with the sound of tiny footsteps. It only took a second for the girl to hear this and start to stir from her sleep. As her eyes were about to open, a voice that sounds like a fork being dragged across rusted metal whispers, "Don't open your eyes... If you value your life." The girl's breath began to come out in ragged gasps as fright began to grip her heart. The voice continued. "Listen, girl and listen well. No matter what you may hear, no matter how scared you are, you cannot open your eyes. If you do, we will kill you. Do you understand me?" The girl nodded slowly, not daring to make a sound. "Excellent." The voice said. Almost immediately, the voice was gone and there was silence. The girl began to think she had just woken from a nightmare and was going to open her eyes when the screams began. There were loud, blood curdling screams coming from the direction of her parents' room. She wanted to see what was going on but then she remembered the stranger's warning. She kept her eyes tightly closed, afraid for her life. The screams increased. They became louder and more frequent. The girl heard her mother shout, "NO!!!" Then there was a thud. After that, all that could be heard was the sound of her father sobbing. The girl desperately wanted to help him but she was too scared to risk anything. Then there was another thud then silence. All was quiet for a very long time. The girl waited and waited. It felt like she'd been waiting for hours. But still she lay in bed, eyes tightly closed, trying to fight the urge to open her eyes. Finally, she pushed back the sheets she'd been gripping, sat up and opened her eyes. There was blood everywhere. The ceiling, the floor, splattered on the walls. Tiny footprints made bloody tracks leading out of her room and into the hallway. The girl gasped in disbelief. Tears rushed to her eyes. She got to her feet slowly. The girl took a deep breath and made her way across the hall to her parents' room. She shrieked. Her mother was dead, her throat cut; her mouth frozen in one last scream. Her father had been stabbed several times; his corpse leaning against a dresser. She backed out of the bedroom in horror. The girl leaned against a wall in the hallway. Suddenly, she remembered her baby brother had been sleeping in the next room. She inched her way towards his nursery. The room was soaked in blood. The girl walked up to the crib, dreading the thought of seeing her infant brother dead. She leaned over and peeked into the crib. Her brother wasn't in it. Instead, a small imp-like man with bloody clothes and brown, withered skin was lying there, snoring peacefully. The girl gasped at the sight of him. The imp's eyes popped open, awakened by the sound she made. It smiled, it's mouth full of sharp, yellow teeth. "I told you not to open your eyes." The girl screamed and screamed...
