Chapter 17

I walked to my first class groggily. I barely had sleep last night. I sat down beside Lin who was talking with Shay and Crystal.

"Hey, Alex," Shay greeted me.

"What's up with you?" Crystal chuckled.

"I'm so sleepy."

Lin laughed and threw me a bar of chocolate. "You're so lucky I have chocolates."

I grinned at her gratefully and ate the chocolate.

"Why didn't you get so much sleep last night?"

"My whore brother got some loud chick last night," I shuddered at the thought.

The girls shuddered except for Lin who is scowling.

I was about to ask her when the teacher went in the room. I'll ask her later.

Once the class ended we all parted ways. That's except for Lin who I held back.

"What?" she asked, a bit annoyed.

"Tell me. What's up with you and Jake?"

She blushed. "Nothing. Just leave it, Alex!" she snapped at me.

I was taken a back with her response. So I let her go. And she walked away grumpily.

I decided that she needs space so I just went to my next class: photography.

I sat on my usual seat. Class started and Zach was not yet here. Mr. Devine was busy discussing so I took out my phone and started to text him. Before I could compose a text I stifled a laugh as I saw Zach's name on my phone. That boy. Note to self: never leave my phone unlocked with Zach.

Where are you? And by the way nice name :)

I sent the text and place it back in my pocket. Photography ended and Zach was no show. By lunch time I sat with my friends but this time Chase and Justin sat with us while Lin and Shay was a no show.

"Hey, beautiful," Chase smirked as he slid beside me.

I saw Jake gave Chase a little glare but Chase either just ignored it or didn't see it.

"Hey, flirty," I teased.

He rolled his eyes at me. "You know only to you, love."

"Mhm. Where's Zach?" I asked him.

He narrowed his eyebrows at me. "He didn't tell you?"

"Tell me wha-"

I was cut off when I felt arms hug me from behind. I turned around and was met by blue eyes.

"Hey, Drew," I greeted him.

"Can I have that pizza?" he asked.

I looked at my untouched pizza. I wonder why I'm not in the mood for eating.

"Shoot."

He smiled brightly at me and sat beside me taking my plate of pizza.

Jake has his concerned look on his face. "Why aren't you eating? Are you feeling alright?"

"Chill. I'm fine. I'm just not hungry."

He nodded his head but he was unconvinced. "But, Lex, you look so tired."

I rolled my eyes. Yeah, I have a massive headache.

"Not to mention you look horrible," Justin added.

Chase threw him a fry which he caught by his mouth and swallowed without chewing. A gesture that made me remember a certain boy. Well, except the swallowing without chewing part. "Don't be a dick, Justin. You're pretty to me."

I rolled my eyes at him this time.

"You look sleep deprived," Drew pointed out.

"No shit sherlock!" I snapped.



Liam smiled at me. "What's wrong, Lex-lex?"

See why I love this boy?

"I think it has something to do with someone that starts with a ZA and ends with a CH," Crystal teased.

I glared at her. "No. It has something to do with someone that starts with a JA and ends with a KE. Because he can't keep it in his pants," I sneered at my brother.

"Hey, I'm a man. I have needs," he defended.

"Can't you go a day without sex?"

"Nope."

And that was both Drew and Jake answering.

"Manwhores. You'd die of STD and I'd be laughing my ass."

Drew smirked at me. "Babe, at least we wont die a virgin."

Chase choked on his coke. "You're a virgin?"

Jake groaned. "No talking about my sister's virginity."

"You're a virgin?" a familiar voice said behind my back.

And this time I blushed. I don't really care if people find out I'm a virgin but this certain someone made me blush.

"Stop taking about it," I groaned and turned to look at Zach.

He smiled at me and then stood behind Drew. "Move."

Drew narrowed his eyes at Zach but moved anyway. Zach took the space between me and Drew.

"So you're a virgin," he said with a very annoying yet sexy smirk.

"Stop talking about it."

He raised his hands in surrender. "Okay okay."

By this time Shay arrived with a smiled plastered on her face.

"Where've you been?" Justin asked.

"Riley," Liam answered in a teasing tone.

I looked at Zach and saw that he was still looking at me.

"Where were you?" I asked him.

He shrugged. "Didn't you receive my text?"

I shook my head then again I didn't look at my phone. I took it out of my pocket and saw that there was a text.

From: Prince Zachy <3

Why? Miss me? I'll be late. Sorry. Have something to do. I'll be there by lunch. Don't miss me too much ;) X

I shook my head at his text.

He laughed and then took my phone then placed it in my pocket. His hand slightly brushed my thighs at that movement making my breath hitch.

"Sorry, I was late," he said then gave me a peck on the lips.

"What the hell was that?" Jake yelled.

"Shit."

"What? Can't I kiss my girlfriend?" Zach asked smugly.

"Girlfriend?" They all said in unison.

Except for Shay and Crystal who said, "finally."

And Chase who said, "You, dick! You didn't tell me yesterday!"

Well, technically Zach and I are aren't a couple yet. But I would love to. I don't know what is going on in that little brain Zach has.

"What? Oh shut up. You knew, dickhead," he said to Chase.

"But you didn't tell me! That hurts, bro!"

"Alex, explain," Jake growled.

Oh, Zach is so going to get it!

"Hey, Alex can I talk to you?"

Saved by the bell! Thank you so much, Lin.

I stood up immediately and took Lin's hand. But before that I gave Zach a peck and whispered, "good luck, bad boy. It's your fault."

Lin and I walked out of the cafeteria. We entered an empty classroom.

"What just happened?" she asked.

I giggled.

"Alexis Jackie Grey! Spill!"

"Um, you said you wanted to talk. So you first."

She shrugged. "Point taken." Immediately guilt flashed in her eyes. "I feel like a bad best friend!"

"What no you're not," I honestly said.

"No no! I lied to you. I mean there's something I didn't tell you," she stopped and I nodded my head encouraging her to continue. "I hooked up with Jake," she said with her eyes closed.

There was silence. But that's until I let out a squeal.

"Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!" I screamed while jumping up and down.

"Alex, chill!" she exclaimed as she steadied my jumping hyper self. "We're not together."

"What?"

"It's more like a friends with benefits thing," she muttered.

"Lin!" I gasped. "What? How many times? And when did it start?"

"Three. First party we went to, at Drew's."

Wow. I feel...betrayed.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I whispered trying to hide the pain.

"You're upset! I'm so sorry. It's just that I was ashamed at first then when it happened again I don't know it feels like we should keep it a secret. I'm really sorry, Alex! I didn't want to lie to you. But I didn't know how to tell you," she rambled in one huge breath.

"It's okay. I mean it hurts you didn't tell me. I am upset. You're my best friend and you didn't tell me, but I understand."

With that I hugged her.

"Thank you! I thought I was going to loose you."

I laughed. "Are you serious? We're like a cellphone and a charger. A pencil and an eraser. A-"

"I get it," she cut me off.

We both laughed and hugged once more.

"Now you and Zach," she said while wiggling her eyebrows.

"Eh, we're not together yet."

"Oh, yet."

"Yeah. I mean we kiss but we're not official."

Lin squealed and nodded her head. "How far did the kiss go?"

"Lin!"

"I'm serious! You share yours and I'll share mine."

"Ew no! I do not want how my brother does during sex," I shivered. I do not need to know that.

"That's gross. Ew. Okay! Come on!"

"Fine. We made out."

She squealed. "Tongue?"

"Yep."

"Is he good?"

"Yes. Gosh!"

She laughed. "So I guess that's why girls are always on his feet."

I did not think about that. Lin noticed my sudden silence.

"Don't worry! Zach likes you, Lex."

"Yeah, but once a player is always a player."

She shook her head. "Not when you find the one."

I chuckled at her cheesiness.

"Do you like him?"

Do I like him? I don't even have to think twice.

"Yes."

"Good."

We continued taking about my weekend and soon enough the bell rang. We parted ways again with a hug.

"Do I get a hug?"

I turned and faced Zach.

"No," I said in a monotone.

He shrugged. "I don't even have to ask." He started walking towards me and then wrapped his arms around my waist.

I gave in soon enough. And I hugged him back.

"Good girl," he teased. Then he kissed my forehead before releasing me.

I know this may sound corny but I missed his warmth when he let me go.

"You know, you shouldn't have left me there by myself with your raging brother and excited yet threatening friends."

I rolled my eyes. "Its your fault."

"How is it my fault may I ask?" he said acting dumb.

"You told them I'm your girlfriend which clearly I'm not."

"Yet," he muttered.

"What?"

He smiled at me innocently. "You'll find out soon."

"Zach!"

He chuckled then patted my head. "Patience, princess."

I groaned. "Zach," I said warningly.

"Gotta go. I'm late for class!"

He started to walk briskly to his next class.

"Since when did you care?" I called after him.

"I don't."

"Asshole."

I started to walk to my next class. Yeah, I'm late but my next class is only minor so that's okay. Before I could walk any further I felt someone hold my arm and turn me.

"Forgot something," Zach said then pulled me into a kiss. He pulled away living me breathless then gave me a small peck then left.

"I'll pick you up by 7 later! Dress casual."

This boy is the death of me.
