“Well first of all, I went to Florida, not Indiana, because Chris and I are” he paused and looked around to see if anyone else was listening. “…CIA secret agents. We were spying on these people who were trying to steal some money from us.” he said. My mouth was wide open and I was speechless.

“Wait, then why were you like studying Logan Jenner?” I asked.

“How did you know that I was studying him?” he asked with a curious look.

“I-It doesn’t matter. Just tell me.”

He sighed and looked back at me. “Come over tonight, I’ll explain everything there.”

“I can’t. My mom wants me home right after this.”

“Then come over now.” He said with a smirk. He took my hand and started running for his car. We got in the car and sped off towards his house. I texted Melissa and told her where I was going and turned my phone off. The whole car ride I realized that I didn’t care that he lied to me anymore. I was just happy that he wasn’t cheating on me or anything like that. I was happy to be with him again, or whatever we were now.

Once we walked into his house he took me straight to the laundry room.

“So don’t freak out when I show you this okay?” he said before he opened the door. I nodded and prepared myself for the worst. He opened the door and I was in awe. Not only was this a laundry room, it was an office filled with profiles of a bunch of scary looking people and on the right side of the room was a gun rack.

My eyes went back and forth from the gun rack to Ethan’s face.

“Those are my guns.” He said with a smile on his face. I let out a nervous chuckle and looked back at the guns. “What? Have you never seen a gun before?”

“Uh no.” I was still in awe that he had guns in his laundry room. Wouldn’t you want to put them in like the basement or someplace cool? “Can I hold one?”

“Absolutely not. I don’t need you shooting yourself.” I pouted at his answer and went over to all the files and pictures.

“So all of these people are…”

“Bad guys.” He answered before I could even finish. “Logan’s stuff isn’t in there if you were wondering.”

“Oh…where is it then?”

“My room. Come on, I’ll explain to you what’s going on with him.” He reached his hand out and I took it. He walked me to his room and led me to the futon. It had all of the papers that were on the kitchen table before. I sat down and started reading them more carefully, but still found out nothing interesting.

“Can you like, elaborate on all of this? I don’t understand why he’s a person of interest.”

“Well, if you read it carefully, it says that he and his father have been stealing weapons from the government. I was sent here to make sure that he doesn’t try and kill someone.”

“So, you’re watching him 24/7 then?”

“Not necessarily. We watch him at big events and stuff like that. Sooner or later they are going to send people to come and get them, but for now Chris and I keep our eyes on him.”

“So when they come and get him and his dad, do you and Chris leave?”

“We can, if we want.” He started. He saw me slump down into the futon and said “Don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere. I’m done after this.”

“Good.”

“So do you forgive me for lying to you?”

“Yes I do. You’re not going to get into any trouble now that you told me right?” I asked with a sheepish grin.

“Who’s gonna find out?” he pointed out with his signature smile. I rolled my eyes and looked back down at all the pictures of Logan and his dad.

Suddenly the picture wasn’t in my hands anymore. I looked up at Ethan and narrowed my eyes when I saw the paper in his hands.
