Tomorrow They Will Come For Me

Tomorrow they will come for me

This I know for sure

one of this would have transpired

If my heart were pure

I took another life

To help sustain my own

To help quieten this hunger

Inside me that has grown

I no longer long for company

My mind is not mine to control

I now have newborn to think of

They are the missing piece to make me whole

My body does their bidding

They have to feed constantly

Or into the world they will travel

And an unsafe place that would be

I have them all contained in the school house

I'm not sure if it will last

They are getting stronger daily

Becoming more devious very fast

The Elders are not happy

Newborn are hard to subdue

If they were to rise up

I hope they would know what to do

But for now I cannot worry

About what may come to pass

They need my constant attention

But to them i'm as fragile as glass

They show me respect always

They will do as I bid

But just for precautions

The villagers I have hid

They are my private army

To protect me from the fray

But after killing in the open

They will be free after today

They won't hunt me down

I will wait right here

Because this is all I have

They are everything I hold dear

I would never feed around here

I have always travelled far

Taking out random hitch hikers

And lone drivers from their car

But being so restricted in movement

Not being able to get about

Has made it impossible for me

Now the villagers have no doubt

They now what I am

They know that I need to feed

They won't wait for an explanation

They will do what they need

To protect their families

To keep their children free

To exterminate my kind

However a part of their life I may be

For I was once their school mistress

Looked after every waif and stray

This is when I realised

I could raise an army this way

I never harmed their children

I just taught them what was right

But I kept to myself

When I hunted at night

Everyone has secrets

That they don't want to share

Mine was being a vampire

This I did'nt think would be fair

I needed some normality in my life

It was a traumatic change for me

My maker had been hunted soon after

I had no other option that I could see

At the point of ending everything

A clear vision filled my mind

Create a family to share your life

So this is what I tried to find

But mortals held temptation

They just left themselves exposed

I didn't take advantage

Above my thirst I rose

For my life now had a purpose

I felt I had a future to

Then he came and made forceful advances

There was nothing I could do

My defences were triggered

I fought with all my might

But at some point I transformed

That is when I lost my sight

He lay before me bleeding

What was I expected to do

I fed upon his body

Before that night was through

So tomorrow they will come for me

I will not try to fight

But if they open to many doors

My army will multiply that night

For we are hated and hunted

We live in the shadows with you

But we know how to survive

It's what predators are born to do!!
