Chapter Two

I felt like screaming, and running.

I started running but my mouth was too dry to scream. When I was contemplating what had happened it didn't hit.

Now it did.

And it hit hard.

Justin was gone. I don't know if I'll ever see him again...and he was so awesome. And what about all those other girls in the restaurant? In the...world? I mean, how will the human race even SURVIVE? As much as they can piss you off they're kinda necessary.

"Hey, wait up!"

Ah crap, he won't go away. And what is he still doing here anyways? He should be gone like the rest of them. Like Justin.

"Hey, you're a fast runner you know that?"

I did now that, at my old highschool I ran track. And won medals. The streaking of surroundings and the rush of wind I was all used to.

I felt an hand on my shoulder and I suddenly found my voice.

I screamed bloody murder.

"Oh just shut up, would ya?" He said, putting his other hand over my mouth.

"OK OK, you win." I grumbled, choking the words out beneath his hand.

He pulled off his hand and I seized the opportunity.

I shrieked again.

This was like one of my nightmares I had ever since I left home. Where all I could do was scream, and scream, and scream, and scream...on and on forever. Or what felt like forever.

But now I couldn't wake up.

And Justin was gone.

I could add that to the end of every sentence. This weird guy who seems oddly familiar is trying to restrain me again, and Justin's gone. People are starting to stare at us strangely, and Justin was gone. The sky is blue, and Justin was gone.

"OK, let go," I said, a little frustrated, and, annoyingly, desprate.

"Why in the world would I do that? You'd just run away again, wouldn't you?" He asked, staring at me.

I nodded, "But the world is pretty messed up lately." I sighed.

"Alright, let's make a truce. I'll let you go, you don't run away again, and I'll explain everything to you.
Deal?" he asked, releasing most of the pressure on my mouth so I could talk. Although from his face I couldn't TALK, I could agree.

"Fine, but you better not leave anything out!" I warned, wagging a finger at him.

I took the moment to fully look at him.

He had dark brown hair that looked weird compared to his deep blue eyes, but weird in a cool and very, VERY attractive way. His hair was long, and slightly curled at the end. Justin had shorter hair, so I'd gotten used to that, and I'd forgotten how much I liked longer hair. He had a lightly muscled body and the coolest cocky smile. But I didn't really like the smirk, it seemed a little to mean, and I could see from just looking into his blue eyes that didn't fit his personality.

Whoa, slow down Emma, you just met the guy. And when you did all the guys mysteriously disappeared, not the best first impression ever...

"Do you wanna, you know? Walk?" he asked, obviously uncomfortable.

"Or we could sit," I suggested, not feeling like walking with a guy because girls were starting to look jealous. Everywhere from confused to spitting in envy. Aw crap.

He chuckled, "On the cement?"

"Over there." I motioned towards the wall of some brick building hidden from stares.

He let go of me completely and walked to exactly where I pointed. Well, not exactly, he stayed back
from the spot by, like, three feet. "Right here? Exactly here? When I step right here, will something fall on my head or something?" he asked, looking at me warily.

"I wish. Nah, it's just away from all the RUDE PEOPLE!" I yelled really loud, whipping my head around to glare at all the people (which equals girls because that's probably all that's left.)

He laughed and sat down. He motioned for me to join him. Or at least I think he did, I never actually fully turned around, my evil brain hatching a plot.

I gave him the finger over my shoulder and started to walk away.

Don't follow me, I chanted, Don't follow me...

He groaned and I heard him get up. He grabbed my arm and pulled me behind him as he walked back towards the wall. Way to take a hint, buddy.

He pushed me down and sat next to me.

"I don't really talk to strangers," I said, scooching away from his arm that laid next to him.

"I'm not that strange," he said, shrugging,

"That's an old line."

"And a lame one."

"Yep," I agreed.

Silence. It reminded me of the ones Justin and I used to share. Grr, stop saying 'used to' Emma! You're going to find him!

"Keep telling yourself that," I said under my breath.

Another tip, don't move so fast with the story, ease into things, in some stories it's good to jump around quickly but you have to think of who the book will speak to, and what type of person reads it. Details, Details, Details, they're the most important part of the beginning of a story. Now obviously that's not advice that's of any use hear since you're already so far into it but when you start writing another make sure you keep that in mind. But ya know like I said, I'm only 15, amateur is I, these are just my personal thoughts and feelings of how things should be. Thanks for reading my story btw, glad you like it.
