Today I was leaving for America. My mum was sad to see me go, but she knew it was my dream to go to California. My aunt Mona owned a beach-house in Santa Monica, so I had a place to stay for three months. "Be careful. You don't know who would try and take you" My mum advised, a look of worry on her face. Why was she so worried? I knew how to take care of myself! "Mum, don't worry" I replied, kissing her cheek. She sighed. I was the definition of average. Blonde hair, brown eyes, tan skin, and legs for days.
Nothing special. The cab driver honked his horn and I knew it was time for my departure. "I'll email you as soon as I get to aunt Mona's" I called, waving out the window. My mum waved back. She had only given me £600 pounds, but I didn't know how much that added up to in American currency. I guess I'd have to wait and see. My plane arrived on time and I boarded quickly. Two young girls were sitting in front of me and raving about One Direction.
What was so special about them? They were just 5 boys who could sing. In my opinion, I could care less about their music. To drown out the girls's squeals, I put my earbuds in and listened to FalloutBoy. Since it was a 14 hour flight nonstop, I decided to take some much needed rest, fully knowing I would have major jet lag later. Music filled my ears and I laid my head against the window of the plane, dreaming of sunny California and its wonderful beaches.
I woke up to the sound of the girls screaming. "OMG THEIR IN CALIFORNIA!!" One girl screamed. Who was in california? "I HEARD LOUIS IS SINGLE!" The other shouted. Oh god, not this again. Even if One Direction was in California, it didn't mean I would have any chance of seeing them... right? "Can you please settle down? I'm trying to sleep" I whispered to the girls. They nodded. Even though they had quieted down, I still couldn't take my mind off One Direction being in California.
"We are preparing to land, so please grab all belongings in the overhead bins. Thank you" A flight attendant announced. I had gotten my bags checked, so I wouldn't have to worry about getting it right away. When the plane landed I hopped up out of my seat and filed out of the plane. Baggage claim was hectic, so I grabbed some McDonalds and waited. Finally, I was able to grab my heavy bags and call a cab. "Where to miss?" The cabbie asked.
"4563 east Carlisle Way" I replied, handing him the directions. We drove onto the highway and drove all the way down to Santa Monica pier and took a sharp turn onto a dusty road. "That'll be $15 dollars" The driver announced. I handed over the correct amount of money and lugged my bags out of the trunk. Aunt Mona had left me a key under the mat to let myself in. Oddly enough, I looked up and saw someone's upstairs curtain swish. Okay?
The first thing I saw when I opened the door was a big husky. "Cookie!" I shouted, running to greet her. She gave me kisses in return. Cookie has been in our family for 10 years but she doesn't look a day over 2. I found my room right away and started to unpack. Soon, Cookie started to whine, so I took her for a walk. It was a beautiful starry night when I took Cookie out, so I brought a flashlight just in case. Thank god dogs were allowed on the beach.
I had no idea where Aunt Mona walked her. Farther down the beach, I saw someone staring out at the ocean. All of a sudden, Cookie tore away from me and ran towards the stranger. "COOKIE!" I shouted, running after her. Husky's were fast dogs, so it took me awhile to get to her. When I did, Cookie was wagging her tail and being pet by the stranger and loving every minute of it. "I'm so sorry. Cookie never does that" I apologized, grabbing the leash."No worries. She's a sweet dog" A familiar British accent replied. Oh so subtly, I shined my flashlight down on the stranger and came face to face with Louis Tomlinson.
Bright light shined in my eyes as the girl lowered her flashlight in my face. "Ow!" I laughed, covering my face. "This is payback for the plane isn't it!" the girl shouted, looking up at the sky. "I'm Louis Tomlinson" I started, standing up. "Carson Dale" She replied, shaking my hand. For some reason, Carson didn't seem to happy to be talking to me.
"Well Carson, is there a reason your talking to the sky?" I asked, suppressing laughter. "Yes. You." She replied, glaring at me. Not this again. I've come across Louis haters, but my very own neighbor? C'mon. "I'm sorry I bothered you. Im going to leave now"
