"JS Prom"
"Honey, Chance is here."
"Coming, Mom."
I took a glance at the mirror since mom told Joanne --the make-up artist and hair stylist-- not to let me see myself before I'm done. She had tied my hair into a bun and left some loose, framing my face.
I'm wearing my fave converse underneath, and it can't be seen. I'm very tall, so no one will notice. I turned my golden charm bracelet into an anklet for my right foot to conceal it, yet still be wearing it. Joanne only applied light make-up. If she had put more, I wouldn't have hesitated to kick that 22 yr. old's butt. Everyone knows I hate make-up. Ughh.
At least I got a red dress. Surprisingly, Chancey helped me pick this out online; although he wouldn't let me see the price. I bet it cost a lot because he knows I hate spending too much money on things.
I grabbed the handle of my door-----
Woopsie. Almost forgot my mask. I got it off my table and headed downstairs.
As I made my way down the staircase, Mom, Dad, Chancey and Jase were by the door, talking.
When they saw me, they stared at me, grinning. I grunted and stomped my feet twice.
"Don't stare!"
They laughed, and Chancey held his arm out for me when I reached the foot of the stairs.
Mom then whipped out her camera. Uh-oh, no reason to be late. I kissed my parents on the cheeks, and Chancey did the same, and I quickly dragged him out the door.
I called back to them,"Bye, guys! See you later!"
Dad said,"Both of you have fun and be careful," then chuckled.
I stopped when a limo appeared in front of us. Chancey opened the door, and I got in with him following suit. We sat beside each other, and I put my half-mask beside me as the limo moved. I raised an eyebrow at Chancey. He smiled oh so innocently.
"What?"
I glared at him.
"Oh. I don't know, it may be the fact that I told you not to use the limo."
He chuckled and put his arm around my shoulder, and I leaned against him.
"I really didn't wanna drive. And by the way, my body guards are following right behind us in a black sedan."
We talked for the short time we made our way to school, and he wrapped a rose corsage around my wrist. When we stopped in front of the Multi-purpose hall, people were just arriving. Chancey and I wore our masks, and Chancey's was uhh.. interesting, no, just weird. Haha.
He was sporting Armani, and he put on green contact lenses. The driver opened the car door, and Chancey got out. He held his hand out for me, and I took it and got out, too.
As we walked to the doors, Chancey was glaring around us. It's like guys are on purposely not being discreet just to annoy me.
I am sort of popular around school since I'm friends with almost everyone. Amanda, thinks she runs the school because her dad's a multi-millionaire. She's so bratty. The only people who put up with her are her barbie friends and guys who want to do her. She's not even a cheerleader.
I love hoodies and shirts a size too big for me. I feel comfortable in them and can move freely.
Yeah, I might've looked like a freak, but people still loved me since I'm an all around girl. I think I tend to be mean or too blunt sometimes, so I don't get why I haven't heard of anyone hating me or stuff. I know lots of people hate other people who are too honest.
I snapped back to reality when Chancey put an overprotective arm around my waist, pulling me very close to him and giving death glares to guys looking at me. But I don't think they'll take him seriously because of his mask. My best friend, everybody.
We decorated the gym with a purple and white theme. Chancey and I made our way towards the side of the stage, where the committee and I were supposed to meet, but a person blocked our way.
Uggh. 'It' stood in front of me, wearing a short pink dress, looking like a barbie with a sparkly feathery pink mask, arms crossed under her chest. A good-looking blond behind her was giving me a once over. This is one of my what-the-freak moments.
I glared at her as she smirked at me. I felt Chancey's grip on me tighten protectively. Amanda must've noticed, too, and she looked like she had just noticed Chancey beside me. She then beamed at me. What the--? She held her hand out.
"I'm Amanda, you are?"
Oh, that explains it, she doesn't know it's me. Yeah. Like who would? Especially with the mask and a hot guy beside me. Eeew. I just thought of Chancey as hot, or so I've been told..
