-----------------------------------------------------------Prologue-----------------------------------------------------

Have you ever had one of those moments when you felt as if your path in life might have been altered? Altered by some sort of sick, twisted, evil-- look at me, now I'm getting off the subject.

Think of it like this; we are all placed on a starting line. A horn is blown for us to run and so we sprint down the path. It doesn't matter what speed or time it takes us to finish, we all start on the same line. But the path we run isn't a just one way . There's a fork in the pathway, leading to three different tunnels. The first one is the Light Tunnel; one that most people take. Those individuals end up having a family,a handful of friends, a nice job and home; a normal life.

Then there is the Dark Tunnel, where the runner becomes ill inside, and corrupted. Not only does this path turn you evil inside, it makes you believe evil is right. Lies spill out of your mouth from a young age and malign.

Finally, there is the jagged, broken tunnel that is yet to have a name; where the runner loses their way somewhere in the middle and can't seem to find their way back.

I'm going to be completely honest with you, and tell you there is a way to run off the whole pathway and cheat the race of life.

It all started, when my mother had the urge to buy some waffles.

“I’m going to the store, do you guys want anything?” she shouted from the kitchen, making the usual ruckus with pots and pans.

I ran into the kitchen at her voice, holding my teddy bear, Mr. Wiggles. As a child he was always at my hip, under my armpit, or on a leash dragging on the floor behind me. No matter what that furry animal was with me. “Can I go with you, Mommy?” I pleaded, biting Mr. Wiggles ear. My words were muffled in his fur, but like ever mother, mine knew me more than I knew myself.

“Of course Baby, we can get those Waffles you like with chocolate chips!” Her voice held excitement as she picked me up into her arms. "You have to give me a kiss first," she demanded, tickeling my side.

I gave her a dramatic 'mwa' and kissed her cheek. Mr. Wiggles was shy around other girls so he just gave a soft peck.

We went through the garage and walked down the driveway to the car where she buckled me up in my booster seat and climbed into the driver seat. Pop music began to pound the car as it turned on, Mom sang along loudly, and out of tune to the music, whereas I sat quietly, counting the trees that passed by on the road, playing with the ends of my beautiful blonde hair.

I started to feel a twinge in my stomach, and made a small grunt in pain.

“Why are you so quiet, Faithy?” she had asked, glancing in the rear view mirror. "Is there something wrong with your stomach again?" Her light blue eyes were filled with worry.

I continued to clutch my abdomen, feeling a sharp pain, “I don’t feel good, Mommy."

“Aw do you want to go back home? You don’t have to come with me.” We stopped at a red light.

Only one more block until we reached the market.

I hugged Mr. Wiggles to my chest, taking all the comfort I needed from the large stuffed animal. Food shopping was my favorite activity to do with my Mother. “I’m ok,I feel better now.”

Even as a little kid I quick when it came to lying. But I was by far good at it. My mother continued to give me glances in the mirror until we pulled up in the parking lot in front of the Food Store. It was early, so it was empty. She got out of the car, and got a food cart, and came around the car to unbuckle me.

As soon as I was in the food cart I was happy again and the strange feeling in my stomach subsided. “Mommy, push me!” I exclaimed, patting my hands on the cart handle.

She smiled and got in a ready stance to sprint, with her hands on the handle. “Anything for you baby. One….two… three!!” She ran with me down the empty parking lot, to the front entrance of the building. I cheered the whole time. The automatic doors clicked open, and she pushed me into the Food store. To the left were check out centers, and to the right were vegetables and flowers. We made a right, and went straight to the flowers, as usual. She picked one single Daisy, and handed it to me. I clutched it in my left hand, still holding Mr. Wiggles in my right.
