PROLOGUE
In the darkness of the warehouse a shadow willed itself to appear. The shadow, now appearing to be the face of a man, smiled. Afterwards he breathed in deeply to show a sign of frustration. As he walked into the light of the room, his eyes shone bright violet, as he stared at the foe in front of him. A sense of great anger arose in him, but what made him so dangerous was the fact that he kept his cool. The worst kind of anger is the one in which they do not react. His reaction was delayed by his patience and control. He smiled once again and started to play with his fingers. On his left and right upper arms he had tattoos of dragons. He had a black shirt on with black baggy pants. There were a number of chains on his pants. Every step he moved forwards they made a kindling noise. His dark hair fell down towards his eyes, pitch-black. He stared at his opponent, and talked in a slow, but daring voice. "Trust in the lies of man and fall to their greed, forget all you have done and enter the new world. How many times my words must be challenged, how many times will you fail my trust? This is the last time that you are to fail, Elantra." In front of the man a young woman stood. Her shirt looked as if it had been ripped, but the man knew close enough that it was meant to be like that. The skirt she wore was knee length and it flowed towards five different sides as she walked. Her hair made a natural curl and was pitch-black. Her eyes were dark blue with a hint of light blue along the side. She had a bronze necklace of a water snake and two manacles around her wrists. "Now Amelda what seems to be the problem?" "Why isn't the boy dead?" Elantra walked closer as Amelda stood still. The sound of her footsteps echoed in the storage facility. Her hands slowly moved towards her hips. She slowly took two daggers from their harness and placed it upon the table. The table was old and made of furnished dark wood. Elantra pushed up her skirt and took out two more daggers. Afterwards she removed a big sword from her back. The handle was made of gems. Every gem shone bright blue. The blade shone silver with ice-blue engravings. A picture of a water snake could be seen on both sides. She placed the sword on the table and moved backwards. Amelda moved towards the table. He accepted her courtesy and decided too maybe consider giving her another chance. "If I was to return to you this sword, will you use it to fulfil your mission?" "No I cannot kill him" "Why not?" Amelda asked breathing in deeply. The silence accompanied the fact that he was angry. He picked up one of the daggers. Its handle was made of some sort of dark blue. In the middle of the dagger there was an opening and the rest of its shapes formed waves. His finger caressed the blade and when he reached the top he pricked his finger. Slowly he moved his finger towards his lips. Elantra did not seem to be fazed by this and spoke up. "He is my nephew; his father is governor of New New York City and second in line for the new election. If you wish to kill him to stop his father from running for the election you have mistaken your assumptions for he does not care about his son. He will only use it to get sympathy votes." "What makes you think that I want him dead? I only wished to see where your loyalty lays. It does not seem to lay with me. So tell me Elantra, what should I do with you?" "What ever you want" He laughed and stared deep into her eyes. "You always know exactly what to say. How am I too trust you again?" Elantra moved her hands behind her back and moved forward. She passed the table and stood in front of him. She lifted her chin up and whispered something too Amelda. "I could make it your worthwhile" Her left hand unhooked the right hand manacle and removed a small knife. The knife was small enough to fit in her hand. Even though it was small Elantra knew that it could be very much effective if you used it right. She moved her right hand, ready to supposedly kiss him, but soon her left hand moved up towards his throat. She stuck the knife into the main sensory point in his neck. He grabbed her hands ready to inflict pain on her when the bleeding started to come forth. As soon as it started to bleed his hands let go and grabbed for his throat. As Amelda was squirming around trying to stop the bleeding, Elantra calmly replaced all of her knives. She picked up the small knife, wiped it clean, and placed it in the manacle again. "Family is the most important thing, Amelda, Which is why I have no emotions. My nephew, honestly, what do you take me for?" She left with the sweet sound of her laughter echoing through the warehouse. She was Elantra, and she had no family, and no emotions to bound her to this earth.
