CHAPTER 15 [Best Birthday Gift Ever!]

“I hate it when you’re right.” I teased Alex playfully. My brothers let go of me and we all glared at the bitch standing up, all her wounds have healed.

“I told you to get the fuck out of here Heather.” Alex fumed.

“Fine, this mall was getting quite a bore anyway.” She sneered snootily as she walked to the exit, she opened the door. “Goodbye dirty mutts.” She smirked before finally leaving our sight…

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!"

Whoa! What?! I immediately sat up frantically in a fighting stance to see that it was just my family carrying a chocolate mousse cake with written words on it Happy 17th birthday Gwen! Aww my favorite cake, haha in all my years with these guys my birthday cake is always chocolate mousse but I don’t complain. I’ll never get tired of this delicious treat.

“Aww… Thanks guys!” I energetically yelled as I pulled them three into a tight hug. Their huge physiques chocked me in an unbreakable bear hug.

When our hug was over I blew on the candle on my cake and immediately grabbed a slice and stuffed my face. The others ate it too until it’s completely gone. Typical, a cake wouldn’t last a minute in our presence.

“Get ready Gwen, your party at Rose’s house will start after a few hours.” Robert reminded. I glanced at my clock and saw that it’s already 2pm! Wow I overslept. I have so many things to do.

“Waa! Why didn’t you guys wake me up earlier?!” I shouted frantically.

“We didn’t want to ruin your beauty sleep.” Jet teased, I stuck my tongue out on him before pushing them all out my room.

I immediately went to my bathroom. I shaved, waxed and plucked into perfection. I bathed in a hot bath with rose petals and essence of violet for hours, making sure I was utterly spotless. I just lay on the bathtub, relaxed and my nerves loosened. My mind is empty, I let myself forget about all the chaos for once. 

I grabbed the marvelous party dress that I would be wearing for tonight and laid it carefully on the bed. I took off my robe and slipped on the dress comfortably. I sat in front of the mirror as I fixed my straight reddish brown hair in soft curls. I start to put on makeup. A hint of mascara, eyeliner, nude lip gloss and eye shadow later, I’m not used to putting on and wearing makeup but I know how because of my mom in the past. I put on my mom’s old jewelry, a pair of stunning diamond earrings and a necklace to match.

I almost didn’t recognize myself as I stared at my reflection in awe. I look ridiculously gorgeous. I haven’t felt this beautiful in a while.

I heard a car beeping outside, I glanced outside my window and saw Alex’s black Pontiac on our drive way. The moon was only half, good news for me. I placed my feet in the 3 inched high heels, grabbed my handbag and took one last look at myself in the mirror. I looked astonishing.

“Gwen! Alex’s here!” my dad’s voice boomed from down stairs.

When I was sure that I looked perfect, I left my room and went down stairs to start the evening.

ALEX’s POV

I stood nervously at the bottom of the stairs waiting for my princess to show up. Her brothers had already left to pick up their dates for Gwen’s party, leaving only her father at home, eyeing me suspiciously. I just smiled excitedly. I can’t wait to see what Gwen looks like tonight.

Click. Clack. The sound of heels on wooden stairs echoed in the house. I turned, my heart stopped when I saw Gwen. Her party dress fell just above her knees. The pink and black designs screams how wild and fun she could be. It clung tightly to her figure perfectly. The dress shown her glorious collar bones and soft skin, I caught myself licking my lips.

When I was done admiring her clothes I took in the rest of her. Her straight reddish chocolate hair was twisted in unruly curls. She had just a light coating of makeup on her face, her diamond earrings and necklace shimmer with her every movement and the scent of roses clung to her. I bet this party would be a blast.
