Chapters 5 part 1
When we walked into the doors of the Academy it was like I stepped back into time. I looked up into the dome ceiling and saw a beautiful drawing of heaven with gold lined clouds and the chubby angels that have nothing on but a white cloth covering their...well you know, and in the middle was a huge crystal chandelier. There was antique furniture and a wood carved fireplace that had crimson flames warming the room. "Wow, "I said, I felt like a tourist. "Its beautiful isn't it, this used to be Victor Corndellot's mansion, and we tried out best to keep it in the same condition he left it in." Mrs. Stratton said. She turned to Dustin and Evan. "Mr. Treece and Mr. Lowe you may return to your dorms and get ready for class." They nodded and started down the hall. Evan turned back "later, Zo," he said. I nodded and followed Mrs. Stratton and Bri in different hall into her office. It was a small room with a lot of plaques and trophies that aligned the shelves on the wall. I took a seat opposite from her desk and Bri took a seat next to me, I noticed a frame that had a picture of her and a person that looked like- no, it can't be. She noticed I was looking at the photo and smiled, her navy eyes not as warm as they were a minute ago. "Well, since we are settled, what questions do you want to ask?" she said. "Nothing in particular, just tell me everything." I answered. She got from her seat "Okay, then. Do you know why you're here?" "Um, no" I answered. She walked up to me and took my right wrist in her hand, pulled up my sleeve, and put a finger in the middle of my mark. "This is why you're here; this mark proves you are a soldier of god, an exorcist in training!" Is this bitch crazy? "Umm, okay...isn't that when priests throw holy water or something like that?" I said. "No, exorcists help lost souls that are wandering the earth and guide them to heaven, I know it's a bit much to take in, but- "how in the hell did I get chosen to be a damn exorcist?" I interrupted. "First of all we don't use that type of language here, and second I suspect your mother hasn't told you anything about you're father?" she said. "Um, no, and why do you know more about him than I do, you don't even know him!" I said, I sunk in my chair and crossed my arms. I glanced over at Bri and she was sleeping, I rolled my eyes. "And that's when you're wrong, Miss Cole, your father, Henry Cole, used to be a student here, and a very famous one at that" She said. I started laughing, "That is too funny! You're telling me my father used to be a freaking exorcist?" "Not, used to be. He still is." She answered. "And since you know so much about him, that where the hell is he?" Her eyes showed sadness,"Well, I don't know, he's is missing in action.", "What do you mean he's missing in action?" "I dont know, he was on a mission and then went missing" "I havent seen my father in two years, so why am i here?" "Do you remember when you first used your elemental power?" she said. "What?" "Do you remember when a flame burst in your hand?" "Yea, but-"She sighed and returned to her seat. "I can't tell you anymore Miss Cole; you must find answers for yourself." "Here is your schedule, and your uniform is waiting for you in the dorms." I took the white slip of paper from her, and shook Gabrielle awake, her eyes popped open. "Come on, show me to the dorms." I said. She nodded and got up. "Bye, Mrs. Stratton." She said with a yawn. I didn't even look back at the woman with the silver hair and navy eyes. I don't care about this school or exorcists, my goal is to find my dad.
