Prologue

"You really don't care about your career, do you?" I folded my arms across my chest as a crisp fall breeze blew past.

"I take risks, that's why I'm so good at what I do," he smirked. His arrogance seeped through his pores.

We were standing outside my house. My house was currently filled with every player on the Flyers, plus their girlfriends. They had won the first game of the season, putting my dad in the partying mood.

I liked hanging with the guys, but when their girlfriends were there, it's a different story. They shot my death glares, while clutching to their boyfriends. I guess I was a threat because I actually had a brain, and knew about their careers.

"What are you afraid of, Angel?" he stepped towards me, sticking his hands in his pockets.

I hated the nickname Angel. So original! Taking the first five letters of my name, big whoop!

But he had a point. Sure he's good at playing, but I don't think he's THAT good. Plus IF he does get the hat trick, there's no way the guys will that him take me out. The protective big brother instinct would take over.

WHEN he doesn't get the hat trick, he'll finally leave me alone and stop hitting on me. Oh what the hell! Plus I can't turn down a bet.

It's something about growing up around guys, that made me this way.

"You're on McLaferty! If you get a hat trick on your next game, I'll go out with you for one date." he smirked thinking he'd won me over.

"Great! Oh and on our date, wear something hot. I have an image to uphold."

I wanted to punch him in the face. Why did someone hat hot have to be so arrogant and ANNOYING!

"Here's a preview of how our dates going to end," I smirked stepping forward.

I brought my hand up to his face, like I was going to kiss him. But pulled away, only to connect with his face with a swift motion.

I turned on my heels feeling triumphant until he yelled after me.

"It's ok Angel, I like it rough!" I heard the smile in his voice.

He won't get a hat trick I tried to reassure myself. All the reassuring in the world couldn't prepare me for the next few months with Trey McLaferty.
