Chapter 7 - Console (part 2)

“Don’t be like that please.” He whispered, taking a lock of my hair and tucking it behind my ears. Ugh I daren’t think about what the state of my hair is like. Probably matted, clumpy and I can’t wait to get out of this place.

“How do you expect me to be?” I said calmly

“Did I do something wrong?”

“Did you-I cannot believe you just asked me that! You start to lead me on, and then lead Sophia on! What sort of a guy does that?” I jumped up almost screaming at him in anger. “I cannot believe you! I expected this from Nick, but not you!”

“Ouch, that hurt.” Came Nicks voice from behind me. “Do you know where I can find Chris and Cass?” and he did actually look hurt.

I felt bad but my anger overtook that emotion, “Spare bedroom!” I demanded.

“I thought you didn’t like me.” Will stood up.

“What?” I was completely lost, what made him think that? I mean before maybe, but we almost or did kiss!

“Well you’ve always seem to avoid me back at camp, then you’d bite my head off back there. I know I was a little harsh back there but I opened up to you. And then I felt as if I was taking advantage when we kissed as you were hurt and in pain, how do I know if you were even thinking straight or not? I just didn’t want you to think of me as a bad person”

“You think that I’d just kiss any guy?” I whispered to him, hurt.

“No, I didn’t mean it like that, I'm not good with expressing myself, you know that, and you know why.”

“Whatever, I’m not listening to this right now. I can’t deal with it, I’m sure your girlfriends waiting, and I’m going to see what Isobel has got to say for herself before I go feed her to the enemy’s soldiers.” I said feeling so exhausted.

And that’s exactly what I did, I went into the spare bedroom got Nick, Cass and most importantly Chris and headed to the store room where Isobel and Damien were looking as guilty as ever.

“I'm so sorry!” Isobel burst into tears as soon as she caught sight of Chris. Chris looked as if seeing her tears hurt him, like he wanted to go calm her down, but sadly that’s him, such the nicest guy you’d ever meet.

“Will!” Sophia said with relief when she saw him come in with us and then she went and clung to his arm

“Sophia, we need to talk.” Will said dragging her into the other room. The room then went silent

“Explain yourself then!” I commanded mustering all the power in me I had left and aiming it at Isobel

Trying to hold back the tears she told us her excuse, “We met in camp, when I was with Chris. Nothing happened I swear but I felt something there which I didn’t with you Chris and I’m so sorry. I should have said something then, but I didn’t want to hurt you, your such a great guy. I-I’m” she fought to keep her voice from wavering, “I really am sorry, but I didn’t want to hurt you, yet I still managed to do so. Back at camp when the war started, I was so scared and then we had to evacuate and you wasn’t there and he was, he saved my life. And then I was so worried when you didn’t come back, but I couldn’t help feeling the same worry for Damien, I owe him my life, and I love him. I hope can forgive me, but I’m not expecting anything any time soon.” She finished.

Well I don’t think anyone was expecting that, and I doubt they were expecting Sophia breaking the silence by stomping her feet past us and over to Isobel’s side of the room giving me a stern, jealous look. This made me glance at Will who caught my eye.

“Alexandra, Please? Can we talk, without you running away this time?”

“I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean.” I said but I accepted by leading the way to the entrance to the cave. I hate it when pulls away from people, so I should at least let him open up when he wants to. That and it gives me and excuse to get away from all the tension in the air, or ‘run away’ as Will likes to put it.

“Yes, William?” I said which made him frown, “What? You called me by my first name.”
