Dyllons P.O.V
I stepped out of the taxi, and paid the amount due. I wasn't thrilled to be moving into this building, but I was glad to be leaving the dump I used to live in. I was feeling relaxed, to be away from the horrible assigned guardians I had. My parents died when I was 13, and living with my aunt and uncle was the worst. This day was my day of freedom. I got a part-time job after school, and after a few years, I made enough money to get away and rent out this new room. It was a four level building, with 4 rooms on each level. I'm only seventeen, but I made my escape from the horrid place I used to struggle in.
My next move was to figure out how to get my suitcase and two boxes upstairs. Unfortunately when I was renting, all they had left was the top floor. I didn't want to leave my items unattended, but there was no way to bring everything upstairs all at once. It seemed like a lot, but I never really owned that much stuff. The two adults who raised me, bought me a few items on occasion, but I usually had to buy my own stuff, with me horrible three dollars a week allowance. I stopped buying though, when I was really determined to get my own place. I'm not broke, but not rich.
I took my suitcase and dragged it up the front stairs of the building, then took my boxes up the stairs. I wheeled my suitcase outside the elevator, and then quickly ran back to get my two boxes. I caught my breath and put everything in the elevator, along with myself. I pushed the level four button, and hummed along to the music. Then the little ding went, and the doors opened to a hallway, with four doors. I wheeled my suitcase out, and grabbed my two boxes. I stood there for a while viewing the hallway. It was a pretty long and wide hallway and the doors were evenly spaced out. The hallway was a dark green and beige color, but looked nice.
Out of one of the doors walked a tall, thin guy with black eyes. His hair was constantly falling in front of them though. I moved out of the elevator entrance, so he could get by. I took out a piece of paper; I knew my room number was on here somewhere.
"New here?" He asked.
"Yeah," I answered.
"You are probably in room fifteen, because rooms thirteen and fourteen are occupied, and sixteen is mine."
"Thanks," I smiled.
"Did you want some help with your stuff?" He gestured towards my boxes.
"That would be great, unless you are on your way to somewhere?" I asked.
"It can wait a few minutes." He answered with a grin. He easily lifted my two boxes up. I could only carry one. His tight, black top really brought out his muscles. I grabbed my suitcase, and followed him to room fifteen.
"I believe you have the key," he laughed.
"Yes," I giggled, feeling like an idiot.
I pulled out the key from my pocket, and opened the room door. I was shocked. It was such a big room, and it was furnished very nicely. The colours were a bit simple: black and tan, but it could be changed. It was way better than my old place that was for sure.
He put the boxes on the ground, and I let go of the suitcase.
"Wow, it's big." I said.
"Yeah, they are pretty big rooms." He smiled. "Anything else I can help you with?"
"Not that I can think of, thanks though." I paused. "Wait, who do I pay my rent to?"
"A guy named Matthew, he comes around once a month to collect the rent, and you will just get a knock at your door. Actually he is usually around more than once a month because he is really good friends with one of the guys on this level."
"Thanks," I paused. "I just realized, I never introduced myself, I'm Dyllon."
He took my hand, and kissed the top, I felt my skin burn up. "I'm Gabe; I have to go now though. I will see you later probably, seeing as we are on the same floor." He waved. As he shut my door, I dropped onto my couch, I was exhausted but I had to unpack and get settled.
I looked around the room. It had a few separate rooms branching out from the main room. It had kind of a Harry Potter dorm feeling to it. I took my suitcase, and put my clothes into the closet, and drawers that were provided in the bedroom. I unpacked the rest of my stuff and settled on the sofa, and flipped on the T.V. I wasn't really watching it though, just thinking. Gabe seemed pretty nice. He was definitely good looking and seemed like a charmer. Before I could keep thinking, I got a knock at my door.
I opened the door, to find a tall, well-built guy leaning at the frame. His dark brown hair was spiked and brown eyes complimented his hair.
