A/N- I've noticed many stories on Wattpad are well.... Retarted, so reccomendations are amazing.
Summary- Edward Cullen moved to Chicago as.a young child from Italy, so when his mother's best friend's daughter came to his school as a foreign exchanege student he didn't give it a second thought. That is, until he found himself at her mercy. A/N- The prologue is really short, sorry. PROLOGUE Esme Cullen was a wondrous woman with long, flowing mahogany hair and a sweetheart face. Her eyes were framed by scimitar-like lashes, their spectacular hazel color alternating from green to brown depending on the light. Esme had been a perfect example of a human since birth, a plump, beautiful baby. She had grown up, sweet and kind, giving many a treat to a ragged beggar child who lived by her mother's favorite bakery. At age 19 she visited the States as a beautiful young woman with a thirst to learn and a passion that couldn't be fulfilled by Venice anymore. She visited from California to Kansas before settling in Chicago in 1990. She fell in love with the streets of the Windy City. Even though they couldn't compare to Venice's marvelous beauty, she inexplicably adored Chicago. When this beautiful woman visited the hospital for a broken leg, it was only natural that she'd fall in love with the handsome blonde haired man who was her doctor. Doctor Carlisle Cullen, ten years her senior, and his spectacular saphire eyes that shone at her through her darkest days grew up in rural Illinois and migrated to Chicago as he studied to become a doctor. He was approaching age 33 when the striking brunette walked into his life, tearing it apart forever in a way that was both amazing and terrifying. A year later they were married, and in the midst of their happiness, Esme had a sudden, hopeless longing for her homeland, and Carlisle, desperate to do anything to make his young wife happy, bought them an apartment in Venice forthwith. In a few months Esme was pregnant, and nine months later Edward Anthony Masen Cullen was born to the delighted new parents. Edward for the heroes of Esme's favorite, well-read books, and Anthony Masen for Carlisle's beloved godfather and godmother, Anthony Smith and Samantha Masen. It was an extensive name, but a fitting one. They lived in Venice for another 9 years, where Edward grew into a curious and intelligent youth. Most of his days were spent prowling along the halls of Cullen Manor, bought before Edward's bith. He read it for shockingly long periods of time, locking himself in the library or his room. He turned down many a woman who admired him for his 'genetic gifts.' He was a soft spoken, beautiful boy, adored by everyone he knew. No one was capable of hating the handsome, innocent boy who could recite Shakespeare in his fabulous, musical voice at the drop of a hat. When, at a young age of 8, he was told they were leaving to move to Chicago, he locked himself in the bathroom with a picnic basket full of food and two lengthy novels and didn't come out for nearly twenty-six hours. So, at age 9 in year 2001 he found himself in the windy city. Edward visited Navy Pier often, aching inwardly for the ocean streets of his childhood. He grew into a studious, yet attractive teen. His face remained utterly zitless, and he seemed to develop muscles simply from kayaking around Illinois' great lake. His bronze hair, which had developed from brown as a child to the spectacular bronze, and emerald eyes that were an exaggeration of his lovely mother's made a stunning pair that Chicago woman, especially as he grew, could not resist flirting. Edward grew to love Chicago, but did not have any intention of staying in America after he chose his proffesion and finished college. So, at age 17, the handsome, genious prodigee of music and academics, was enrolled at a private school for his senior year of high school. His private school was in a rural town outside of Chicago, So, a month through his first quarter, Esme called his head master. A recently bankrupted family, the mother of which was Esme's single school friend, the other girls being jealous and petty, was running out of options. Their 3 children needed to be put through their last years of high school. They had no where to stay if they were enrolled in high school, as the parents were staying with friends, but didn't have room for their children. Esme offered them money for a new house, but they refused. Instead, she set up their children, Seth, a freshman, and Isabella, a senior in Edward's school, and the parents, Elizabeth and Samuel, originally an American, Swan stayed with them.
