Chapter 10
I walked into the kitchen and saw the guys leaning against the counter, each eating a slice of pizza as if they hadn't heard anything. I knew it was more than likely only a pretense but I decided I would go with it.
"Jori have I got news for you."
His face lit up. "ou've finally realized your burning desire for me?"
"No!" What the hell . . .?
His face dropped immediately and I could tell he was no longer interested in the conversation. "Oh, then what is it?"
"Well, get this, Sapphira likes you and wants you two to hook up."
"Ew." He scoffed, now glancing into the room Sapphira was in as she waited anxiously for me to get back to her with the verdict.
"Jori!" Shiori exclaimed. "You should be ecstatic about news like that." It's true, he should have been.
"Why?" He asked, clearly not seeing the good news. "It's not like Rise is the one who wants to hook up."
"True, come to think about it that news might be kinda annoying."
Not helping.
"You think?" Jori asked impatiently.
"So does that mean you won't give her a chance?" I asked.
"Precisely." He said with a spiteful smile. I sighed and rolled my eyes before turning with a sweet smile to the other four.
"What about you guys?"
"What about us?" Ruri asked expectantly.
"She wanted to get with any of you, she simply asked for Jori in particular." I knew there were nicer ways of saying that but it made no sense to sugar coat it, not for these guys anyway. What I said to them wouldn't affect their decision in the least bit because I knew just how immoral they were.
"No." Ruri said coldly.
"In what dimension?" Shiori challenged.
"Hell no." Cory said turning his head away.
"Never." Mizuri stated.
What a waste but I had a plan. I sighed. "If those are your final answers then I guess I have to respect them." I said wistfully. "Oh well, and to think I was going to give whoever said yes a kiss." I looked at them deliberately and saw each of their faces light up.
"Really?"
"What kind of kiss?"
"How long would it last?"
I looked over at them teasingly. "You guys will never know because you all said no."
"Wait, just so we're clear." Ruri said, " Will that kiss be leading to further physical pursuits?"
"Not on your life." I mumbled. Cory and Jori shrugged.
"Well,"
"It's a start."
Shiori turned to me and placed his hands on my shoulders with a patient look in his eyes. 'Just promise us you won't get too jealous."
Oh brother. I rolled my eyes then said sarcastically. "I think I can handle it."
"Okay, but remember that we're acting." Mizuri said.
"Right, whatever, now go." I said as I began pushing them from the kitchen. They all mumbled their final protest before reentering the living room. I sighed. That took alot of work. Those guys were just so difficult. I shook my head as the scene replayed in my head. those guys were really something. I grabbed a slice of pizza then went back to the room. When I got in there I noticed that they were all sitting around Sapphira and she seemed to be loving the attention. She mouthed her thanks before returning to all the new attention she had gotten. "When are we going to continue the movie?" I asked since no one moved towards the dvd after I entered.
"You can watch the rest of the movie if you want but we want to watch Sapphira." Shiori said smiling over at her. She began blushing.
I ended up sitting in the chair watching them watch Sapphira. asking her about her interest and dreams and they were doing some major flirting--to the point where it became intolerable to watch. they were treating her like how they treated me. It was kinda . . .annoying . . .
"Sapphira darling are you thirsty?" Ruri asked in that gentleman voice of his.
"Because I could get you something to drink." Cory offered.
"No, I'm good thanks." She said shyly as she sucked up all the excess attention.
"Well you know . . .actually I'm kinda thirsty." I said.
"Uh-huh."
"You know where the fridge is." Jori added indifferently.
"What?!" My ears had gone into shock. Had they really said that to me? They ignored my outburst and continued pampering and attending to Sapphira. Wow when they did things they really did go all out. It was definitely . . .believable.
