*************

"Oh my god, my mums here" I gasped, letting go of Liam and stepping away from him.

It was crazy just how scared I felt.

The sound of the horn filled the air again and I grimaced as I looked at my mum.

She slowly pointed her finger at me and then at the seat next to her, indicating that she wanted me to get into her car.

"I have to go" I said shakily.

Liam frowned, looking from my mum to me.

"Are you going to be okay?" he asked me, his chocolate eyes imploring mine.

"Yeah, I'll be fine" I lied, putting on a fake smile.

Slowly walking towards my mums car, I was stopped by Liam grabbing my hand.

His chocolate eyes oozed concern.

"Kaydie, stand up for yourself" he said quietly.

My mum pressed the horn again and Liam let go.

"I'll call you or something" I mumbled.

I could feel my mums eyes burning into me as I walked round to the passenger side of her car.

"Mum, I have my car here" I told her weakly.

"Drive home and meet me in the lounge" she snapped.

Nodding, I closed the door and walked round to where I'd parked Rex. I knew that Liam hadn't left and truth be told I wanted to jump in his car with him and speed off into the distance.

At least my mum hadn't made a scene here, I couldn't bear for him to be dragged into any of my families drama.

My mum hadn't driven off yet, I figured she wanted to make sure that I didn't speak to Liam.

With one last quick glance at Liam, I got in to Rex and started the journey home.

************

When I reached home, I rushed inside.

Max was sat in the lounge in his pyjamas watching the TV; my dad was in his office, but the door was slightly open.

"Missile Max, you need to go to bed now" I said quickly, turning off the TV.

I had a feeling my mum was going to explode when she came home and I didn't want him to witness any of it.

"Aaaaw man! That was my favourite episode of Phineas and Ferb!" he protested.

"Max please" I pleaded, "Mum and dad want you to go bed. Do this for me and I'll take you to get a milkshake tomorrow before your boxing class"

Bribery at it's best.

"Can Liam come?" he asked, his eyes lighting up.

"Maybe"

A thought struck me.

"Max, has mum asked you about Liam?" I questioned him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

He looked down to the floor.

"She asked me if you talk to him a lot at the gym"

My heart sank, surely she knew he was my boyfriend.

Holy crapola.

"But I told her you don't really speak to him" he continued.

My mouth fell open.
