Jasiah's pov

I stared at the Doctor and the couple angrily. I wanted to know what the hell was going on! My mom fainted, that lady fainted, and the doctor seemed to know this woman. My mom seemed to know this woman. Every-damn-body knew this woman except for me and it was pissing me off

"Well?" I snapped impatiently at them. "Some answers please!"

The husband spoke up. "I sorry I can't really help you but I'd like to know what's going on myself. " He said to me as he stared his wife down. She gulped and looked up at him wide-eyed.Somebody's been keeping secrets it seems.

"Uh..." Was all that came out of her mouth and Julian let out a little snicker. My lips twitched but I didn't smile. This was hardly the time nor place to be laughing. I slyly elbowed Julian in the ribs as the woman stared at him looking offended.

Julian cleared his throat. "Uh, sorry." He muttered averting his gaze down to the floor.

"Okay." The doctor clapped his hands together. "How about we all calm down and talk about this privately. In my office." He stared at all of us to make sure we understood. We all nodded our heads at him. "Okay well I'm going to get that room for your mom and I'll be back to get you guys." He swiftly turned on his heel and walked off.

The husband immediately turned to his wife. "So what was that?" He asked. He didn't sound angry just curious. By the look on the woman's face I had a feeling that it wouldn't be like that for long.

"Honey, didn't you hear the man." She said trying to calm him down but also looking like she was avoiding the question. "We'll talk about it in his office." She patted his arm.

"Is it bad news?" He asked. "Just tell me that at least."

"The office." She said firmly reminding him. I watched these two back and forth like a tennis match. He sighed nodding his head in defeat. We all sat down on the couches and waited for the doctor.

He showed up two minutes later with a nurse and a bed. The nurse and the doctor carefully picked up my moms body and put it on the bed. We watched silently as the nurse wheeled her away.

"Why didn't we just wake her up?" I asked as I just remembered I wanted to ask that.

"Well she seems to be under a lot of stress so I thought it best to let her rest. Don't you?" He asked us raising an eyebrow. I nodded understandingly as did Julian. "Alright I suppose we should be taking this to my office now. If you'll all follow me." He turned and walked off expecting us to follow him, which we did.

He led us down a couple hallways and we passed the desk we had went to when we got here. "Jackie." He nodded to the nurse sitting back there. She nodded back looking us all over curiously before going back to what she was doing.

He turned down one more hallway before stopping at a door at the end the hall. It had Dr.Patel on it and P.H.d and all that other stuff. "After you guys." He said sweeping an arm towards the door. Nobody moved.

I rolled my eyes and stepped forward to open the door. Gee we were just going to talk! They were all acting like we were meeting our doom or something retarded like that.

The shuffled in after me and doctor turned towards the end of the hallway once more. "Jackie make sure I'm not disturbed unless it's an emergency, please." He called to her. I assuming she nodded because he immediately closed the door. Walking over to his chair he dropped down into with a deep sigh.

"So where do we begin?" He asked us.

I spoke up first. "How about with why my mom fainted." I then turned to the woman.

"Who are you?" I demanded of her. She blinked back at me shocked at my tone.

"I'm Karen." She stated slowly.

"Yes, I know that." I snapped impatiently. "How do you know my mom?" I asked her. The others in the room were just listening attentively.

"I don't know her."

"Well she sure looked like she knew you." Julian cut in. I cut my eyes at him. I was handling this just fine.

"I can't imagine from where. I've never saw your mom before a day in my life." She told us. Her tone rang with sincerity so I had no choice but to believe her.

"Moving on." Her husband started. "Now why did you faint?" He asked her. Karen looked around the room at us before finally turning to him. She looked nervous. I chanced a quick glance at the doctor to see him looking just as nervous.

"He's my ex-boyfriend." She stated.

That's when all hell broke loose for them. They didn't know my mom so they couldn't give us any answers. I wanted to know about that not have a mini marriage counselling going on in the doctors office.

I was a little annoyed at having been dragged along for nothing. This didn't even involve us.

Or so I'd thought.
