I woke up with Hunter gently shaking me awake; he was only wearing boxers so the first thing i saw was his mucley stomach, he was so big!
I sat up and started to climb out of his bed and realized i wasn't in my maids outfit, just my bra knickers and one of his tops which was more like a dress on me.
He laughed as i looked down at myself, "You were really tired, you must have been up for a long time but you couldn't sleep in what you were wearing" he said looking at me. I went bright red as i slid off the bed, i didn't know what to do or where my clothes were, i looked around the room for that ugly maid dress but i couldn't find it anywhere. He was now dressed in jeans as he handed me my outfit "You need to be out and in the maid's room in an hour but first i need to talk to you" he said pulling on a T-shirt. I stood at the end of the bed waiting for him to talk to me first. I must had stood there about two minutes before he turned round to face me and walked up to me only stopping inches away from me. "I have lots of enemies in this house Kayla and i can't be around all the time to keep an eye on you, i did not want you for this very reason because some of the boys in the house will do anything to get what they want so I'm asking you to be careful, ok?" i nodded not sure what to think i was happy that he seemed to care about me but how was i supposed to be careful when the boys in this house could do anything to me they wanted, i couldn't exactly fight them off.
"I'm not happy that you are round the house so much it is not safe. I will try to sort that out but if you do get in trouble Sam will help you." I nodded again hoping i would not have to ask for help from Sam. He leaned around me reaching for something in his draw but leaned back as i flinched i couldn't help being jumpy, too much had happened in the last two days.
"I'm not going to hurt you Kayla, you know that, if i wanted to do that i would have done it last night when you too tired to do anything" he said staring in to my eyes he honestly looked hurt that i had flinched away from him again.
"Ok" i murmured embarrassed at flinching from him again. I shuffled to the bathroom, had a shower and quickly got changed throwing on that ugly dress and folding up the top Hunter had given me. When i walked out he was still on the bed and looked up at me as i walked out my hair still wet. I didn't know what to do with myself again, i didn't need to go down stairs for another half hour i could have been early but i didn't want to run in to anyone scary like last night.
I was just about to head for the door when i heard a loud snarling from downstairs, it sounded like two dogs fighting,, i jumped as there was a loud crash and more growling. I could feel Hunter looking at me so i turned my head away from the door to look at him. He got up from the bed slowly and grabbed my arm pulling me on the opposite side of the bed. He looked away and looked back up at the ceiling but i wanted to know what was going on and if that meant him getting angry then so be it.
"What was that?" i whispered trying not to sound like i was demanding an answer.
"That" he said slowly "would be Sam and Luther"
"But there were dogs growling" i said feeling confused, he just laughed darkly.
"I think you will find they were wolves"
"Wolves?" why would they have wolves of all things in a house did they escape from a kennel or something?
"There are lot of wolves in this house, Kala" he wasn't smiling he was just looking at the ceiling like he was waiting for some reaction from me. I was even more confused now.
"There are?" i said, now i just felt stupid like i was missing something really obvious.
"I suppose i should probably tell you i don't want you to find out coz one of the guys loses their tempers but you won't believe me" he said. What wouldn't i believe him, i trusted Hunter and why would it matter if they lost their temper? i felt like screaming but that would get me in trouble.
"Kayla, i don't think you realise just how much danger you are in, you are lucky you ended up being a maid because it could have been much, much worse. Most of the girls end up being hunted and killed by us and raped.- i froze, hunted? why would you hunt girls you had already kidnapped?- Kayla I'm a werewolf like the rest of the boys in this house" he sighed in defeat as he watched the tear dribble down my cheek silently. For some reason i knew he was telling the truth, that was why they were all so big. He carried on watching me as more tears started to fall on my cheeks. I knew why i was crying, Chloe had been unlucky, she had been killed by them.
