Artemis and Keisha left me and Ray alone in the living room.

I got up and walked into the kitchen. I heard Ray follow after me. I got a cup and grabbed some orange juice.

"Brit Brat, I don't want anything to be awkward between us, but please remember that I'm with Zonnique." Ray said.

I poured my juice then drank it slowly as I stared at him; taking in his long braids, long hands, skinny arms and legs, and pretty face. That's what he has-- a pretty face. He says it all the time. He has a pretty, handsome, sexy face, body, and personality.

"Well Ray Rat, you don't seem to remember that when you give me those smiles or hugs." I snapped. Ray looked down then back up at me.

"You're right," He walked toward me. "When I'm with you I forget about Zonnique. I forget that she and I are in a relationship. All I think about is you, Brittany. Whenever Zonnique touches me, I wish it were you. She isn't you. She doesn't have your sweet smile, your brains, your beauty, your confidence, your excellence. She doesn't compare to you."

I stared at Ray without saying anything. He was so close. If I stepped forward our chests would be touching.

"Is that really how you feel, Ray? Or are you just saying that because you're caught in the moment?" I asked. He took the cup out of hands and placed it on the counter behind me.

"That's how I really feel. Whenever I'm with you I just go blank. I can't think straight," He grabbed my hands and held them tightly. "I'm so sorry for the way I always talked about me and you being together. I just couldn't understand my feelings for you and Zonnique, but now I know. I know that Zonnique would be more of a sister."

"And me?" I asked.

"You'd be the perfect girlfriend." He whispered as he leaned in. I started to lean toward him, but I got my common sense and pushed him back.

"What?" Ray asked.

"I am not going to be a whore, okay? Break up with Star before you try to kiss me." I said. He pulled out his phone and tapped it then put it up to his ear. He motioned for me to be quiet.

"Hey Zonnique...Yeah, I'm sorry. I know its late...I was wondering if you could meet me some--...Nique, I know its late, but this is important...I don't want to say it over the phone...Because what I have to say isn't something you say over the phone, Zonnique!...I don't care. If I say this over the phone you'll call me a punk, so come to the Conjunction House." Ray hung up after he told Star where to meet him.

"She'll be here soon." Ray sighed.

"You'll really break up with her for me?" I asked, astonished.

"Yes. I'll do anything for you. I'll die for you, kill for you, take a bullet for you. I'll do anything for you and only you." He said and hugged me.

"Did you tell Star that?" I asked.

"I told her I'd take a splinter for her." Ray said. I looked at him and laughed.

"A splinter?" I asked as someone knocked on the front door.

"Stay in here until she leaves, okay?" Ray told me and I nodded. He jogged out of the kitchen quickly to get the door before anyone else.

"Hey Ray. What's so important that I had to come here?" Star asked. I walked out of the kitchen and into the hallway that leads to the living room. I stayed in the shadows so Star wouldn't see me.

"Zonnique, I think we should break up." Ray said bluntly.

"Is it because of that Brittany, TrendyB bitch?" Star asked. She did not just call me a bitch!
