Miss You

You've been there for me,

Since the day I came into this world,

Whenever things got rough,

Always.

I still can't believe it happened,

Those fateful days.

When you started struggling,

Getting weaker and weaker,

Whithering away from us all.

The day I heard you were ill,

I honestly thought you'd get better,

But, oh man, I was wrong.

As your condition grew worse quickly,

I didn't know what to do,

Where to turn,

I didn't know anymore.

A few days later,

I heard you passed on.

I wanted to break down in tears,

But for some reason,

I couldn't.

I was just numb.

At your wake,

I didn't want to believe it,

Believe you were with God now.

As I went up to you and prayed,

I was shaking,

Still can't believe you're gone.

The next day,

I dressed up nice in your honor.

I stayed absolutely silent,

listeneing to my family talk about you and how wonderful you were.

At the end of that service,

We ended in an untraditional way, and clapped for you.

There, I broke down

and sobbed.

I couldn't let you go yet, no matter how selfish that is.

Even though you had to go,

You were a blessing to have.

When we lost you,

We definately lost the center of our world.

I hope you are happier now up there.

You were a great man,

One of a kind,

Gentle,

Sweet,

Musical,

Funny.

I'll never, EVER forget you.

OK, I'm not gonna lie, I started crying while writing this.

This poem was written in honor of my great grandpa, who died last week. He meant a lot to me, and still does. I really miss him, and I haven't been totally the same since he passed on, so I decided to write about it.

I hope everything's going great for him now.

Sorry this was a bit depressing...
