Hey Lovelies! :]
First chapter!!! :D I was supposed to start this in August, but I seriously couldn't resist!
Quote of the day:
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say...
Hope you guys liked that one, it's my one of my personal favorites. :)
Chapter 1 – Beginning of a sappy story
"Mommy! The Grammys are almost about to start!" A girl said as she jumped up and down.
"I'll be right there!" The mother shouted in the kitchen.
The girl turned her TV on and changed the channel to the Live Grammy Awards.
"Hello, this is reporter Lisa Smith reporting live from the Grammy Awards! Tonight we have Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Usher, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Bruno Mars and many more! Most importantly, our FAVOURITE group Cue is performing for the grand finale! Let's take the camera to the live stage, the show is about to begin in five minutes!"
The girl watched the show with excitement; she was waiting for the final group show up. It was her favorite group and she wanted to watch them get their first award.
"Best Music Award goes to... Cue!"
The crowd screamed and cheered when Cue came up on stage, the group of five seemed happy and excited. Some were crying, and some were jumping up and down. No matter what they did, they seemed together, like they’ve known each other for the longest time. The audience could see that whatever one person was expressing, the others felt it as well. They spread their emotions through the crowd, everyone was influenced by then.
"We're going to do this a little differently today, since it's your first award, tell us about your journey." The announcer asked.
A short girl stepped forward, the announcer handed her the microphone as she wiped her tears away.
"It wasn't easy, I mean nothing is, right?" She began to speak, trying to contain her emotions.
She then gave the brightest idiotic smile that anyone could have; everyone felt her joy and warmth.
The crowd laughed and cheered for Cue.
"Well, I have a secret..."
----Five years ago----
“Lauren…? Are you home?” I asked as I opened my apartment door.
No response. I sighed and walked into my house.
I locked the door behind me and took off my shoes; I slowly proceeded my way into the study room and dropped my backpack and school jacket on the ground. I walked into my room to find my sister passed out on my side of the bed. I didn’t really care about the fact that she slept facing the mattress or she was on my side.
What made me mad was that she had her dirty shoes on my bed.
I quickly took off her shoes and threw them aside, causing her to flinch a bit.
“Mmmm…” she groaned.
“Just go to sleep, I’ll wake you up when mom comes home.” I said as I laid her blanket on her body.
“Sleep tight, sis.”
Again, no response…
I closed the door as quietly as I could and walked back to the study room. It was time for homework and I needed every valuable second I could get. I looked at the clock and it was 3:00 PM. I have an essay and several math questions to finish. As I finished writing my last statement in math, I looked at the clock. It was the time to prepare food for my parent’s arrival.
Even though I was so tired of my daily chores and duties, I had to finish them. There was no way out of it. Maybe if my university drop out sister was more productive, I wouldn’t have to do so much work. My parents try to wash the dishes and do cleaning at home while I was busy, but I would stop what I was doing to finish the job.
As I started cooking a simple meal, my mom entered from the door.
“Welcome back mom, how was your day?”
“Thank you honey, it was tiring.” My mom placed her bag on the chair near me.
Same old routine, never changes.
“When’s dad coming back?”
“He called me and said he was going to be very late today, just save some leftovers for him on the kitchen counter once you’re done cooking.” Mom sighed.
