I woke to the sound of my alarm going off. I groaned and flipped to the other side to get more sleep, but that wasn’t happening because there was a knock on my door and my mother’s voice was heard on the other side of the door.
“Sweetie, wake up you have school”
“I’m up mom. I’ll be down in a minute” I called back. I guess I won’t be skipping school today. I stayed in bed for a few seconds before finally getting out of my bed. The cool tile floor made me shiver as it connected with my bare feet. I sighed and walked to my closet to get my outfit of the day even though it will be covered in blood by the end of the day. I grabbed a black shirt and black skinnies and my old converse and clean boxers. Once I had everything that I needed I walked out off of my room and down the hall to the bathroom to take a shower. I stripped of my clothes once inside and had the water on warm. The water hit all my muscles and relaxed my body. I looked down and there were bruises, both new and old, covering my torso. I washed up and got out. I wrapped the towel around my waist after drying myself and walked out and down the hall back to my room. I got dressed and grabbed my backpack of the floor and headed downstairs where my mom and my brother were already eating breakfast.
“Morning kiddo” my brother, Brian greets once I enter the kitchen
“Morning, Brian, morning mom” I said giving her a kiss on the cheek
“Morning baby, how did you sleep?” she asked
Like crap “good and you”
“Good thank you but now I got to go, see you in the morning” she replied getting up and grabbing her purse from the counter. My mom has been a single mom ever since my ‘dad’ left us a few years ago when I came home one day and told them that I had gotten a girl pregnant at a party. The same day I told both my parents and my brother that I was gay and that was the worst day of my life. My father beat me and walked out of our lives and I haven’t seen him since then. Now I’m 16 years old raising two 1 year olds. Their mother had found my address and left them on my doorstep. I still remember the day that she showed up with two car seats and two little boys crying.
I was seating in my room laughing at something that one of my friends, Johnny, had said when there was a knock on the door.
“Who could be knocking on your door at 10 pm?” Molly, Johnny’s cousin, asked from the floor where she was lying on with Hannah.
“I’m not sure but I’ll be right back” I replied getting up from my seat and walking downstairs to where my brother was already opening the door. I stopped on the last step when I saw who it was. It was Lena, the girl that I had hooked up with a few months ago at Johnny’s party.
“Yes, my I help you?” Brian asked in a confused voice
“Is this where Hunter Stevens lives?” Lena asked
“Yeah, can I ask why you’re looking for my brother?”
“Because I came here to talk to him” she replied with annoyance.
“I’ll take her from here, Bri, go back to whatever you were doing in the kitchen” I said from walking towards them
“You sure?” He asked and I nodded. He sighed and went back to the kitchen where I heard him and his friends resuming whatever they were doing.
“What do you need Lena? I thought you never wanted to see me after what happened 9 months ago” I said
“And I don’t but I have to since I bringing you your sons. I don’t want them. I know you would rather have them than have me place them for adoption” she replied
