37. NINA HAS ANOTHER TANTRUM. BUT, SADLY, CHRIS CAN’T CONTROL IT!

We ended up back in the park, in a small meadow-like part of it. It was secluded enough for us to have a conversation without being overheard. Nina was crying hysterically on Christopher’s lap, her face buried in his neck, and he awkwardly patted her back. They were on the only bench in the patch of grass, while I was laying on my back. The night sky twinkled above me and I sighed quietly. How easy it must be to live in the sky. Aliens must have the time of their lives living up there.

‘Are you okay enough to talk now?’ I heard Christopher whisper in Nina’s ear. ‘What happened?’

‘I was going to the supermarket,’ Nina hiccupped. ‘And they just ambushed me. They tied me up and gave me some sort of drug. Next thing I knew I was being presented to you and Emma and-’

‘It’s Emilee,’ I corrected.

‘Whatever, that doesn’t matter,’ Nina sneered and continued. ‘Why did you run away, my love?’

This was directed at Christopher. ‘I had to loop back and figure out a plan.’

‘Oh, alright,’ Nina smiled and snuggled more into Christopher’s side. ‘What were you guys doing before I was kidnapped? Wait a minute. Why is she here? You didn’t say anything about her when you called me!’

And to think I thought she wasn’t capable of ranting.

‘She’s my maid,’ Christopher said matter-of-factly.

‘I don’t like it, can’t you just get a male servant?’ she continued to whine.

‘No, I can’t. It’s too late.’

‘Well fine.’ Nina pouted, but gave up. ‘What are you doing here anyway? I thought you were going back to the castle?’

‘My dad sent me on a special mission. I’m not allowed to tell you what.’ Chris answered vaguely, which made Nina pissed.

‘WHY CAN’T YOU TELL ME?’ Nina screamed and Chris shrugged.

‘My dad said not to. And I don’t want you getting worried, anyway.’

Such a good liar, Christopher is. Wow, I totally just sounded like Yoda from Star Wars. Such an ugly whore, Nina is. This is so cool! I get why Yoda speaks like this all the time now! Awesome, Emilee is. Damn straight Yoda. Shit! I’ve missed out on half of the conversation! Stupid Emilee (mental face palm)!

‘Nina, you have to go back. It’s too dangerous for you to stay with me,’ Christopher persuaded but Nina just shook her head defiantly.

‘I’m not going back there! They’ve probably found out where I live by now!’ there was a tone of finality in her voice. ‘Anyway, you’re my soul mate. I’m meant to be with you forever, and so I am.’

‘It’s not safe, Nina,’ Christopher sighed, obviously loosing the argument.

‘I refuse to leave you here with HER!’ Nina pointed an accusing finger at me and I sighed, looking back up at the sky. Abduct me now? Please?

‘What’s wrong with Milee?’

‘EVERYTHING! SHE’S INSANE!’ Nina screamed. ‘She thinks she’s your soul mate! I can’t have you around someone like that! She could rape you!’

Me? Rape Christopher? I must admit that sometimes it’s tempting, but I’m not that extreme. Last time I checked, Nina was the one doing the raping…

‘Emilee is human,’ Christopher cooed. ‘Like she could ever rape me.’

‘Is that an invitation?’ I asked from the ground, not looking away from the sky.

‘No, Mills, it’s not an invitation. If anyone’s doing the raping it’s going to be me,’ Christopher teased and I rolled my eyes.

‘Like you could ever rape me,’ I copied what he said earlier and rolled over to face him. My hair fell in my face and I blew at it angrily.

‘Neither of you are going to rape the other!’ Nina shrieked, breaking out playful banter. ‘YOU are the maid and YOU are my soul mate. We’ve completed the mating ritual and everything!’

‘Eww, why would you do that?’ I asked and wrinkled my nose.
