Vampire Cul-de-sac Part 2

Vampire Cul-de-sac

2

Jason POV

As I sat on my front lawn pretending to read for the sake of watching Azreil do her morning pelaties, I thought about talking
to her for about the hundreth time this week. Ever sense that night when I went next door, I haven't been able to build up
the courage to talk to her. I had made up my mind, though, today would be the day I pushed those fears aside. It took a great
deal of effort simply to walk up to her, saying hello was like running a marathon for the milionth time that hour, but I
finaly managed a mumbled, "hi."

She looked at me in a puzzled way at first, but after a while she smiled and said hi back.

I gave her what I desperatly hoped was a dazzeling smile and asked, "so, what do you like to do?"

She came out of a splits position that I could never hope to do and rolled up her mat. "I'll show you." she said simply. I
was a bit confused when she led me in because nothing looked the same, but I shook this off and folowed her around, assuming
that since I had not been here in a week and they were still moving in that they had to have changed something about there
house in the move of more things and most likely had a painter come in to do their walls. I folowed her through a route that
would never be able to navagate without help. Occationaly she would look back to make sure I was there and she would smile
everytime she noticed I was right behind her. We ran into a few other kids, ranging from 9-24 on our way and they all gave
me hostile looks. I thought I saw a rabbit hop across the hall and a snake slither after it at one point, but I figured it
was my imagination running wild.

When we finaly stoped outside a door, I was feeling exausted. She took one look at me and laughed.

"What?" I asked, wanting to know why she would laugh at me right now.

"Oh, it's nothing, I was just thinking." she replied.

I scoffed at this, knowing that there was more, but I didn't say anything or press the matter. She stood there, looking at
the doors, which were ornate French double doors, with a blank expression on her face. I grew tired of this very fast,
considering my attention span was that of a peanut, and asked, "Are you just going to stand there,or are we going to go in
soon?" I asked with a smartass tone.

She shook her head to clear it and opened the door...
