I Spy.

Location: A rundown Diner, New York

Time: 6000 Hours AM

The morning crowd have already started to walk in, music plays in the background, it sounds old and jazzy. A girl walks in; she is clearly suffering from a headache. It’s a presumed hangover judging by the smell of beer on her and the stain on her hot pink top, she’s got a few cuts and bruises and there is a small needle mark on her arm. In a corner booth that is blocked from the view of the door, sit four teenagers. Two girls, two boys, they all wear matching white tops with ‘Fox Academy’ embroidered across the left breast. They all hold scripts and speak in dramatic whispers, the waitress walks over to them curiously and they all place their scripts face down on the table. “May I take your orders?” She questioned, one girl snuggled closer to the boy she was with and then answers.

“I’ll have the breakfast burrito please, what about you snuggle muffin?” She had a heavy British accent and her curly brown hair seemed almost lifeless, but it was in perfect condition. Her presumed boyfriend had black hair and brown eyes. He wrapped his arms around her tightly and answered.

“I’ll have the same please.” He responded, the waitress quickly wrote down the order then looked towards the other two. The boy had suddenly jumped on the girl, kissing her. She had no choice but to respond. “Just get them the same thing and bring us all coffee please.” She quickly writes down the order and leaves, she has seen stranger but it never fails to shock her. After she leaves Veronica pushes Raphael off her and Catalin sprung away from Jeremy, they all pick up their ‘scripts’ again.

“So, I’m going to be Catharine Melville heiress of Melville Enterprises. Oh the joy.” Catalin says sarcastically, the Melville’s are owners of a high end fashion company.

“It’s better than being the Prince of Bourmondsey, does that even exist?” Raphael looks towards Jeremy who nods.

“It’s located at the edge of the Catalyst Isles and is known as the end of the World. Besides I have to be stupid. With my IQ I will find that highly difficult. Could you help me with that one Raphael?” He jokes.

“I have to be the girlfriend of that though.”  She points to her new enemy, Raphael. “But if you ever kiss me again I will break your nose.” Veronica glares at him, Catalin and Jeremy snatch their ‘scripts’ away and put them all face down on the table. Jeremy puts his arm back around Catalin and the waitress appears, Raphael jumps on Veronica again.

“Your burritos and coffee” She places the orders down and then walks away after she glances at Veronica and Raphael. Once the waitress is out of sight Veronica shoves Raphael of her and punches his nose. There is a loud crack as his nose breaks, she casually hands him a napkin and starts on her burrito. The others are already eating their food; Raphael places the napkin over his nose and looks down. Then holding either side of his nose and biting his lip so he doesn’t scream he pushes his nose back into place, another loud crack travels through the diner but is ignored. Then he starts to eat.

Location: An Underground Government Warehouse

Time: 9000 Hours AM

A girl sits on a bed; she is in a plain white room. The only colour is the silver of the beds and the door holding her in. She is wearing simple black underwear and holds a photo album; she thumbs a picture. It is of her and a man, in the picture she appears younger, Thirteen maybe? The only differences between the girl on the bed and the girl in the picture are five years of age and the pain in the eyes of the girl. In the picture she is smiling and happy, now she hides behind a mask and never lets it drop. Veronica walks into the room, she wears a matching set of underwear, only hers is white. Catalin instantly shuts the album and puts it under her bed. “Hello Catalin, how are you?” Veronica questions, Catalin is amazed. The only time Veronica has spoken to her directly was earlier in the diner when she asked for the sugar.

“I’m fine. You?” Veronica doesn’t answer; instead she sits on the bed and leans towards Catalin. Unsure of how to respond Catalin sits there, speechless. Veronica trails a hand up Catalin’s thigh seductively and leans towards her. Just before Veronica kisses her Catalin jumps away and Veronica stands up to confront her.
