Chapter Five - The Heart Starts to Skip
Aaron's In Bored POV
"Would someone please tell me what's going on between you and Cedric?" Alice exclaimed and sat beside me, putting down her tray. There's a bowl of mixed salad and a plate of french fries on it. She took one piece of the french fries and dipped into the ketchup.
"What happened between me and Cedric?" I bit into my chocolate muffin and gave her a questioning look. Did something happen between us these days? I didn't acknowledge anything's wrong.
"Wait, you mean you didn't know the rumour?" She nearly chocked of her small piece of french fry. I patted her back and she gave me a 'thanks'. Her trimmed bang fell down messily, covered her emerald eyes. I helped her to move her hair to the side. She blushed briefly and gave me a small shy smile. Wow, that's awkward.
"Did I remind you that I am gay?" I whispered carefully only her ears to hear. She frowned and slapped my face, hard.
"Ouch! What that for?" I touched my hurtful face. Damn did she slap it hard!
"For reminding me how stupid I was to once fall in love with you." She stabbed her salad with the silver knife. I laughed out loud and earned another slap from her.
Alice was the first girl who ever dared to ask me out when we were at 7th grade. We were best friends since then. We always hung out together, of course with Seth too. Seth knew I was gay before I even found out myself, which was weird because I never show any gayness. I acted like normal boy. Dressed normal, talked about girls and played sports. But I was not an athlete, I prefered being a rock star. Seth called himself a 'gay detector'. Alice thought I was in love with her too because I spent a lot of times with her. Did I really that hot that could even make my own best friend in love with me? So when I rejected her, she commanded me for a reason not to love her. Because I am gay, I told her that day. Want to know what she did? She kissed me on the damn lips! That's my first kiss for crying out loud! I thought she was a smart person, did she know the definition of gay!? Well, I was shock but she told me she was okay with me being gay. She just wanted to taste my gay lips. Which was totally weird and she stole my first kiss!
"Sorry Alice," I brought down my head and kissed the back of her hand. I met her blushed face and shy eyes when I looked up. Yes, I was born to be a gentleman and a flirter.
She took her hand back and popped in a fry into her mouth. "Anyway, you didn't know?"
"About what!?" I finished the muffin and folded the muffin cup slowly and nicely. This was so gay, but who cared. She kept on asking me did I know the rumour, but she never said what was it!? She maybe good at conviced people with her long words, but she never would learn how to talk the real point.
"I mean the rumour that is spreading like a fire now!" Alice exclaimed with a shock face at me. Well, I didn't like to gossip. That's just pure childish and annoying. I eyed with a eyebrow raised. She shook her head and put her palm in my shoulder for support, because she apparently was going to faint any moment now for my cluelessness.
"That you and Cedric are fighting over a girl."
I nearly chocked on my own spit. My wide butterscotch eyes gave Alice a good laugh at me. Her laugh soon died down when I glared him with my look of the reaper himself. Yes, I got that. But her face told me she was holding a chained laugh behind her shut up mouth.
