chapter 3
"Don't forget these," she says, handing me a real ugly pair of slippers.
"What are they?" I ask, wrinkling my nose is disgust.
"Uwabakis, we have to wear them to class," She states.
"Why?" I ask, holding the shoes away from me. She just shrugs. I sigh, changing my shoes in the process. The whole school day was boring, except for when the other new kid showed up. Now that was hilarious. He was all different kinds of confused and then some. Neela and I walk back outside and over to my cousin.
"Time to go home?" I ask.
"Sam, do you want to go to the races with me?" Neela asks. I sigh. So much for going home.
"Sure," I say, smiling. Takashi's face goes stone cold.
"I don't want her there Neela," he says, glaring at the road.
I glare at him, saying," I'm not a baby Takashi, I can take care of myself."
"Yeah, sure,"he says, looking skeptical.
"I can!" I yell, just as we pull up to my house. I sprint out of the car, seething with anger. I hear Neela's door slam behind me.
"Where are you going, Neela?" He asks.
"To help Sam get ready for the races,"She simply states. I stop at my door to wait for her.
"Neela-," he begins, but she cuts him off.
"She will be fine," Neela says, trying to stay calm. He just speeds off down the road. Neela sigh and turns to meet me at the door.
"Come on," Neela says, rushing me into my house. We walk up to my room and she goes straight to my closet.
"Wait here," She says. I sit on my bed and wait. My dad's gone as usual. He must of had another business trip. I'm lost on my thoughts when Neela finally emerges...holding up a mini dress and a pair of four inch heels.
"Are you serious," I exclaime, staring at the outfit.
"Oh yeah," she say smirking as she drags me to the bathroom and hands me my dress. She shuts the door. I sigh, slowly changing my outfit.
"Happy?" I question. She just smirks.
