CHAPTER THREE
( Parker's POV ) *Authors Note: This goes back to right after they dropped Skye off at the park* "Ugh- I still don't get why we had to help her, and why I had to give up my jacket!" I whined "Listen, stop moaning about it, and let's just get home." Colton stated "Yes, I agree. And Parker, do you think we should've just let her die? I mean, she didn't even look like she was in that good shape to begin with." Jessie cooed. I let it go, and we flew into darkness, towards our house- which many humans see as a mansion. The places we lived in the Underworld, however, were much larger than the houses on Earth. Soon we arrived at the front gates, and walked into the empty house. We had just moved in, so the house was really plain, except for the few pieces of furniture we bought. Slumping on the couch, I let out an overdramatic sigh, and sat with a pus on my face. 'What's so special about that girl anyway?' I quarreled with myself. I mean, besides her beautiful, deep blue eyes her dark, silky hair- NO! no no no! What am I thinking? She's just some human girl whose life we spared. Nothing more. Plus, a vampire couldn't fall for a human, right? Right? I shrugged the thought away, and looked over at where my brothers were, all in the kitchen. I got up, yelled over my shoulder on the way up the stairs, "I'm going to bed!" "...Kay." three voices shouted, obviously preoccupied. I sighed and opened the door to my room. The idea humans have that vampires and daemons don't sleep is just silly. Vampires don't sleep in coffins, either, just in normal beds. Stripping off my clothes and crawling into bed, I drifted off to sleep with the image of Skye in my mind. *The next morning...* I awoke to the bright light shining through my windows. Throwing my covers off and walking downstairs, I saw that my brothers were all up. "It's 3 in the afternoon!" Joel shouted "Yeah yeah..." I grumbled, brushing right past him. "Okay, well here's what's on the agenda for today." Jessie said, smiling. He always liked to plan things- and that stupid smirk of his never left his face. I sighed and he continued. "Well, we already ate breakfast and took showers, so you're a little behind. At 6'o clock we are going out to eat at this local place, "Grab 'n Go" that's just around the corner. Between now and then we're shopping for more stuff around the house, and wardrobes. Anything we might need for here in the Human World." Jessie said, barely taking a breath between each sentence. Looking at him, hope danced in his eyes, and I couldn't argue. "Okay." I said, giving in, and went upstairs to get dressed. The rest of the day until we had our dinner time planned consisted of "Which color would go best with the walls? Does this shirt look good on me? Is it normal for humans to wear this? We need this chair!". I went through it half-heartedly, and I knew that they could sense this. I didn't care though, and neither did they. They were all just glad I wasn't putting up a fit. Finally, time seemed to pass, and it was time to get to the "Grab 'n Go". We hopped into the black lamborghini, and were on our way. The soft chime of the bells dangling above the door brought a smile to Jessie's face. He was so entertained by this Human World, along with the people in it. I, on the other hand, couldn't wait to get back home. Here, on Earth, everything was so...boring. I looked at the dimly lit room, the shabby, plastic coated booths, and the peeling tables. A human wouldn't have such keen senses, however, but being a vampire, you get used to these things. Taking in a deep breath of the air around me, I smelt the food that was being cooked in the back room. Not bad, for human food, but still, blood was better. Vampires eat human food too- humans are always thinking that we only drink blood. The only thing that the Twilight series got right is that we can drink animal blood- though also, it's not as satisfying. We all filed into the last booth in the restaurant, and opening up the menus a young-looking blonde girl handed us, while giving us all a flirtatious wink. Ugh- how shallow humans are. To them, we're all irresistible. That's part of what makes us the perfect predator- our looks invite you in, and our strength could never be matched by even the strongest human. I groaned, and Joel flashed his pearly whites at her- he loves pretending to flirt with all the women that fall at his feet, only for them to find that he's really gay. He lets out a giggle - thats right, he giggled - and we all rolled our eyes. Soon, the blonde girl left, and we sat talking while we waited for our waitress to come and take our orders.
