INTERVIEW # 01:
Author: @tohiish (Kimberley)
Stories Made: "The Dress That Made It Happen"
So.. Here it is. Hope this will help you a lot and thank you very much to our friend, Kimberley.
-----------------
Interviewer: What can you say to other authors that are having a hard time making a book that makes sense?
The best advise I can give you is work out your story before uploading. Know how your story begins, what happens in between, know how the characters will develop and know the end. This will make it a lot easier for you to continue writing and to upload frequently.
If you are struggling to come up with an idea/plot to make a great story. Think of things that have happened to you in your everyday life, find something and give it a twist. You'll soon realize it's easier to write about something you know of than the opposite. Make it easy for yourself and the potential readers!
Interviewer: What can you suggest in making really great and professional covers?
If you have no idea of how your cover should look like, you can always ask for help in the right clubs such as Multimedia designs. If you are more a picky-kind-of-person, you can try out yourself on picmonkey or other editing sites. Let the cover be something to draw readers in, a pretty image with a catching title always does the trick! ;)
Interviewer: How did you get 200 plus votes and 2000 plus reads in your story "The Dress That Made It Happen"?
Simple ways to increase your amount of reads if by advertising your story in the right clubs. Every week you get the opportunity to promote yourself, so make use of it. Ask critiques for help and insight on your developing story. Hearing someone else's opinion can be a great value to you. Be open for any kind of opinion. The more you can improve your story the more likely readers will check out your book. Don't be afraid to private message a fellow Wattpad user that is open for suggestions. Just remember to be kind and friendly in every approach you undertake. Nobody likes pushy-writers.
Interviewer: What are your message to the authors that didn't get the opportunity to be known?
Enjoy, don't give up hope and keep writing! You should write for your own enjoyment and because you love the idea of exploring your way through your own set of imagination. Don't let the amount of reads you get, determine whether you should continue or stop writing. People gain reads in different ways but if you give up than you stop yourself from having fun writing.
Interviewer: What can be your advice to everyone whether to the successful ones and the unsuccessful ones?
If you have an idea go for it! Be original in plot, style of writing and character building. Especially continue writing, you might get stuck or feel like you have no idea how to keep your story flowing. Just breath and think clearly. How do you get from the start to the end of your story in the way you want it to go? Make a list of events want you to let happen and you'll see a story will soon be completed.
Interviewer: What was your inspiration to write your book "The Dress That Made It Happen"?
Fashion primarily. I happened to run a fashion blog on Tumblr and each time I reblog posts, it are either fashion-items or fashion-related images. I've always been fond of reading books but I longed for more stories that had a touch of fashion to it's story.
Interviewer: What was your reaction when you realized that someone actually appreciates your book?
It's a great and motivating feeling! When you've been contemplating whether to write and upload a story for weeks it is a very reassuring feeling, knowing you get appreciated for it. When you get comments like 'you belong on Wattpad' then you realize you've done a good thing by not only making yourself happy because of writing but sharing your imagination with other readers.
Interviewer: What can you say to your fans and readers who supports your book?
Thank you so much to each and every one of you "The Dress That Made It Happen' readers! Thank you for voting, commenting and enjoying this writing journey you've chosen to go along with me!
Interviewer: Lastly, what can you say about yourself?
Like I said I love reading and I've read multiple chick-lit books from writers such as Sophie Kinsella and Lindsey Kelk. I could find hours of pleasure in humorous stories. Wattpad has giving me the opportunity to changes positions and bring out the writer in me!
Very well said. Her answers were great.. Hope this helped you. More advices and interviews, coming. If you want your favorite author to be interviewed, you can comment her/him below, and we'll try if possible. Thanks a lot!
