Chapter 9 : Wish Come True

Leone was still hugging Deniss’ mouth until she passed out. He then swiftly caught her.

Kira saw nothing peculiar. She had seen this sort of action a lot. In her planet.

“Ahh, that was fast,” Leone said, amused.

“Leone,” Kira started softly.

“Hmm?”

“You just did what beings in our planet do.”

“Oh really?” he replied nonchalantly.

“That method was used to let the user grant someone’s wish.”

Leone look at her for a while then smiled. “Really? That’s cool.”

Kira returned his gaze and grinned back. “Yes, it’s really cool.”

“Hello dearies, would you like some cookies and trea-?” Mrs.O'Malley said mirthfully then she stopped herself.

“Deniss?! Leone, Kira, what happened to my baby?!” she shouted nervously, going near to her.

“She fell asleep all of the sudden,” Leone said casually.

Mrs. O'Malley paused from panicking. “Oh really?”

“Really. She must’ve been tired, Mrs. O’Malley,” Kira added.

“Why, you’re right. She must’ve been writing her stories all night long.”

“Stories?”

“Yes, my little one here enjoys story writing as her past time," Mrs. O'Malley said while caressing her daughter's cheek.

“She really does have a wild imagination after all,” Leone said knowingly.

“She does, Leone. Anyway, why don’t the two of you go downstairs and grab some snacks while I put my Deniss to bed.”

“I’ll do it, Mrs. O”Malley,” Leone stood up to volunteer.

“You’re really a nice boy, Leone.” He just smiled innocently in return.

And then Leone held Deniss in his arms and carried her to her room. Her mother escorted Kira to the living room for some treats.

Chief O’Malley eventually came home for dinner and he taught Kira more about flutterbies and butterflies.

The two quite enjoyed the O'Malley's homey and quirky company.

Kira even got the opportunity to bond with Deniss for a while. Deniss shared some of her works with the red headed being.

This was one of their senseless conversations:

"Oh, Deniss! You entitled your story with the word 'Fallen'," Kira said eagerly.

"Yeah, so?" Deniss asked lazily.

"Where did the character fall from?"

"The heavens, duh. Where could Nate fall from then?"

"So, this 'Nate' guy was like you in a way, Kira." Leone rubbed his chin in thought.

"It seems so, Leone. I wonder if 'Nate' is also from my kind."

Deniss stared at the two for a while then burst out questioningly, "Wait, are you an angel, red?"

"Angel?"

"You know, like people who have wings and are gorgeously hot. Things like that."

"Gorgeously hot?" Kira asked, very perplexed.

"It's a term used by Deniss to describe her dream man, Kira. It's usually in her hallucinations," Leone said calculatingly.

"I do not hallucinate, Leo! I visualize, I imagine, I daydream!" Deniss retorted helplessly.

"Daydream?"

Deniss sighed tiredly and put a hand on Kira's shoulder. "You are really hopeless, red."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The time then came for the two to say goodbye.

They were now in the family's front porch. Chief O'Malley was giving Leone instructions and directions going to their new 'temporary home'. And Mrs. O'Malley kept on handing Kira with sweet treats.

After saying their farewells, the grown-ups left the two with Deniss.

"Well, I guess this is goodbye, Leo, red," Deniss started awkwardly.

"Oh, Deniss. I learned a lot from you! There were tons of earth words I didn't know after all. I really hope your wish comes true." Kira hugged Deniss tightly.

Deniss smiled and returned her embrace. "I had fun with you too, red and I hope so too."

"Don't worry, Deniss, he'll come." Leone ruffled her dark hair.

"You're really a nice guy, Leo. Sigh. I really hoped you were a basta-"

"Hey," a blonde boy with grayish eyes said lazily. The two looked at him, dumbfounded while well, Deniss oogled.

"We are new here and my mum asked me to give you guys this mac and cheese for some friendly gesture. God knows what that woman was thinking."
