Chapter 44

“Yeah, I’ll be down in fifteen.” I quickly said into the phone. Marcus was in London, for my dad and his mum’s wedding, and we had to attend a dinner for both our parents. My dad hadn’t made an effort to call me ever since we last met in California, but of course, he would tell me to come to a dinner so he can introduce me to his new family.

Marcus was almost at my house, ready to pick me up and take me to the dinner. I put in my earrings quickly, turning to see my reflection. I borrowed one of Taylor’s dresses that seemed to fit me perfectly.  It was a beautiful midnight blue, short dress, the neck line dipping down a bit, the material hugging my curves wonderfully.

Niall and I had stuck to our deal about not telling anyone about “us” and just wait until the figured it out themselves.

He ended up staying the entire day, and I think that he was still over at my place. He refused to go home, even when Taylor threatened to start talking about the best brand of tampons.

For some reason, Niall just wanted to stay at my place, even though I was getting ready most of the time.

“Wow.” I heard someone mutter as I quickly turned around. Niall’s figure was leaning against my door frame, his eyes wondering my body. I quickly wrapped my arms around my chest as a natural instinct.

“Is it too much?” I asked turning toward my mirror again, looking at my reflection. I didn’t want to over-dress but then again I didn’t want to under dress. Damn it this was hard then freaking rocket science.

I never received a reply, as Niall kicked the door closed with his foot. The loud noise startled me as I turned towards him abruptly.

“Wow.” He muttered again, his eyes once again traveling up my body, meeting at my eyes.

I cocked my head o the side, wanting a reply. “A good wow, or a bad wow?” I asked as I ruffled my hair in nervousness.

Niall wasn’t going to be going with me, and neither was Taylor. Even though I loved the both of them to death, I felt like I needed to do this myself. I needed to meet Ashley’s side of the family and finally try to understand my dad. It’s like he wanted to try and build our relationship back to what it used to be, but then again, he wanted nothing to do with me.

I still had no idea as of what he wanted, and neither did I. It was terrible, I had the ego of a guy, meaning that I really wanted to dress nice and show off to my dad that I was better without him.

When I zoned out, I hadn’t even noticed how close Niall was standing next to me, his hot breath tickling the nape of my neck, making me shiver.

“I love that color on you.” He whispered, his voice coming out a bit raspy making my heart thump against my chest loudly.

“Thanks.” I muttered, my cheeks burning. Niall’s arms wrapped around my waist, his head buried in the crook of my neck.

“When are you leaving?” He mumbled against my neck, his lips brushing against the delicate skin.

“In like 10 minutes.” I managed to breathe out, trying to keep my voice steady.

Niall’s face had left the crook of my neck, and hovered against mine. He was so close, I could feel his breath onto my lips, as my eyes fluttered closed just at the presence of his face against mine.

“I think I might mess up your lipstick.” Niall muttered against my lips as his arms wrapped around my waist tighter.

“I think that sounds really cliché but I’m going to kiss you anyways.” I muttered qucikly. The words had barely left my mouth before he pressed his lips against mine, perfectly filling the gap that my lips had created. Our lips moved in sync as my thoughts clouded, and my feet left the ground. Well, not literally, but it sure as hell did feel like it. My arms hung loosely around his neck, trying to pull him closer if that was even possible to begin with.
