AMY’S POV

“Missy stop this” I grumbled and pushed her away from me.

“COME ON! THE MATING NIGHT IS HERE” Missy shouted and I looked at her irritated.

“Missy I really don’t care. It doesn’t matter.  It’s not like this night is going to be any different from the other mating nights” I said and Missy looked at me defeated.

She stepped towards me and I lay back on my bed.

“Come on Amy, I am sure we will get a mate tonight. Just one last time.” Missy pleaded and I looked at her face and sighed.

I am sure about the fact that Missy would get a mate this time. There was no doubt. She was so pretty. She had light blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She was amazingly pretty, why would she not have a mate?

“Allright” I said and got up from the bed. I stepped towards the closet and searched for something to wear.

“You should hurry Amy, there isn’t much time left. It’s almost 10” Missy said and pulled out a pair of shorts and tank top for me.

I snatched it from her hand and ran to the bathroom. I quickly stripped off my jeans and put on my on the pair of shorts and tank top.

 I looked at my reflection and noticed that my hair was a complete mess. My green eyes looked back at me with a sad reflection.

“Hurry” Missy said from the other side of the room. I sighed and stepped out of the bathroom and made my way downstairs, with Missy running behind me.

We reached the field and waited for the Alpha to come for the announcement.

I noticed my father step up. I looked away from him. I couldn’t stand seeing him. He had killed my mother. It was because of him that my mother died. He was a Royal.

Royals were a group of the most powerful werewolf’s that ruled over each and every Alpha and their pack.

We didn’t have a King, queen or any Royal families. Royals were those werewolf’s that were born with their powers. Their kind existed for more than thousand years. They never aged and always stayed young. If a female became their mate then even she would be young for eternity.

My father was offered a position of an Alpha after mother left him. When he mated my mother he remained a royal. He neglected her, didn’t care about her or me.

But when mother left him it hit him like a wall of brick. He was offered an Alpha position just a year later and he took it. He thought he could get mom back.

But what he didn’t know was that mom was mated to another werewolf. When dad came to know, he killed the werewolf that mom mated. And in turn mom killed herself.

She blamed my father for taking away all her happiness.

I couldn’t hate him, not really. But I loved my mother dearly and her death was caused because of him. It was something that I could never forget.

Now he wanted me to get a mate so that he could hand over the Alpha position. He had lived with the burden for too long.

But I still didn’t find my mate. I was turning 18 in a few months and I was still mateless. Usually female werewolf’s found their mates once they turned 16 but I wasn’t that lucky.

Missy was also my age and we were the oldest females who hadn’t found a mate.

I knew it didn’t affect her that much. She said that if fate wanted her to find a mate then she would.

“Welcome to the mating ceremony for the half-moon pack. All you females will find your mate today who will cherish you, love you and take care of you for the rest of their lives. Let the ceremony begin” My dad shouted and I held my breath and closed my eyes.
