Love from Rhiannon xxxxx Chapter Thirteen Panic I remember. I remember him. I'm in the middle of an English class and I remember, I thought. My head seared and the pain took over, blocking my sight. I gasped and found Melissa's hand. It was a good thing she was sitting next to me. I grabbed it and squeezed. I felt her turn and look at me and then hands were on my face, feeling my forehead. The hands were cold and calming and then my chest tightened. The familiar feeling came up from my stomach and caught somewhere in the region of my lungs. I gasped for air and then I realised what was happening. I tried to swallow but I couldn't. My mouth was so dry, like I was really thirsty or something. I tried again but I felt like I was going to swallow my tongue. My vision cleared and my teacher's face appeared in front of me. "Water." I gasped. I couldn't manage the please that should've been on the end. Melissa thrust her water bottle into my hand and I downed it in one. My mouth felt dry as ever and as I reached for my own water bottle it started. The shaking. The shaking that once was started never ceased until I was calm. I knew what was coming next and my eyes rolled back in my head slightly as I tried to prepare for it, but it came sooner than I had expected. The breath I had just taken caught in my throat and that was it. My last breath for a while. I opened my mouth, trying to desperately gulp in more air but nothing happened. My uncontrollable shaking shook my chair and the table and I fell sideways and landed hard on the roughly carpeted floor. I hit my head hard and still no oxygen entered my lungs, relived my heart and my brain. The level of panic in the room rose as mine did inside me. I was scaring people and I was about to die. I was truly going to die. And then it came. My last effort to get a breath in and the cool air flooded my lungs. Relief washed over me and the spots that were appearing in front of my eyes had gone. I got through it. It was over. "Where is she? Let me through you idiots, give her space she needs air!" I heard a familiar voice and suddenly my head was on something warm and soft. My throbbing head was resting on someone's lap. "Lizzie?! Can you hear me? Baby, just nod your head if you can hear me." Jack; they got Jack for me. I was safe again. Tears spilled onto my cheeks and I nodded. He was so scared and I felt him exhale a breath of relief. "Oh, Lizzie!" Melissa squealed. She was crying, I could see now and I tried to sit up. I had to let her no I was okay. My arms and legs were aching and I felt tired. "I'm okay. It's alright." I whispered and she pulled me into a hug. "What happened to you?" She said sobbing into my shoulder. Both of us were crying and the truth was I didn't feel stupid at all. I knew I had an audience but I didn't care. We were the 'popular' group any way, so I was sure that they would just find the whole thing either extremely entertaining or moving. I heard several sniffs from different areas around the room. "It was a panic attack." I said, pulling away. "I used to get them after, well you know, Mike's little accident. But I haven't had one in over a year. They stopped a few months after." Melissa was staring at me in horror. "But what do you have to be panicky about now?" She asked, wiping her eyes on the sleeve of her cardigan. "Because I saw, Melissa. I saw him. My brother. And he isn't dead." I whispered, making sure only she could hear. "What do you mean?" She asked, sounding truly horrified now. "It was him. He killed Mike." *** "No, it isn't possible." Brett said, in total confusion. "It can't be." Jared agreed. I looked at my friends around me. They all looked so scared... and so disbelieving. "Listen guys. My brother was at that party and he killed Mike." I said, nodding my head defiantly. I knew it was him. It had to be, I had seen him. "I saw him when I was training, we were fighting with whips and then just now in English I realised. I saw him a few weeks before my party. In a car and that car had sure as hell been following me. I saw him, looking in through the window while I was in class at my old school. He was watching me and then at my party. He was there. As I walked upstairs to try and find Mike he was walking down. He passed me on the stairs but I didn't realise it was him because I was so worried about Mike. And I just remembered, so he must have killed Mike." I finished and looked around. Melissa looked sympathetic and Kerry was doing her best to look anywhere other than at me. Brett shook his head and rubbed his eyes. Jared was watching me carefully and then he spoke, hesitantly.
