~ ~ Chapter Ten ~ ~

Stepping onto the foyer level, I glanced around looking for anyone who might be in here but the coast was clear. I was about to take a step forward when I was suddenly pushed from behind by a giggling Phil, “It’s not Mission Impossible A.”

Rolling my eyes as I straightened up and followed him out of the elevator, “We don't know if the person who dropped the note off is still here or not,” I pointed out as Phil paused mid step and glanced around the empty area.

“No, I think they left already,” he mumbled and kept walking to the single door with a sign that said ‘security’ – it didn’t take us long to remember that there are security cameras on every level inside the building and in the car park, so we should be able to a picture of who knocked on our door and ran.

Hitting the redial button on my phone, I held it back up to my ear as I tried calling Dougy again but it just kept ringing out and going to voicemail which is really unlike him – he always answers within the first four rings for either Phil or I.

“I'm really worried about him Phil,” I commented softly as I listened to the ringing while he was jiggling the door handle.

“He’ll ring back soon,” he grunted as he shook the handle with even more force. “Its locked,” he sighed as he let go and stood back, looking over at me.

Rolling my eyes, “Didn’t think they would lock a room full of security cameras,” I muttered sarcastically as Dougy’s voice mail beeped on, ‘Unless you’re a part of my crew – piss off and if this is Phil just annoying me – start running you idiot.’

Shaking my head slightly, I decided to leave him a message this time and hope he got back to one of us soon, the phone beeped and started recording. “Hey Dougy, where are you? We’ve had a situation and you need to come back as soon as you get this,” then I hung up.

Phil was looking at the top of my head, frowning I reached up and gently ran my fingers over my hair, “Is there something on me?” I asked, worried but I couldn’t feel anything out of place.

“Can I have a bobby pin?” I stared at him like he had lost his mind as he reached forward and just stole one from out of my hair anyway, “Cheers,” he grinned.

Dropping my hand, “I never actually said you could take one, did I?”

He flashed me his famous grin from over his shoulder as he bent down and started picking the lock. Sighing I walked over and leaned against the wall besides him and watched him for a moment until my eyes trailed over to watch the passing traffic and pedestrians outside the double glassed front doors.

“Uh, Phil?”

“Yeah?”

“You’re on camera right now,” I smiled a little as I caught sight of the camera up in the corner of the room, the red light shining as it faced the entire foyer but most importantly, was recording us right now as Phil was picking the lock of a door that we shouldn’t be going in.

Phil stopped what he was doing and turned to look over at it, “Huh, forgot they would have one in here – oh well, we’ll just delete this once we get in,” and he went back to gaining entrance.

“Yes!” he cried out a minute later as he swung the door open and jumped to his feet, turning to face me with a massive grin, “After you m’lady,” he waved his hand for me to enter as he did a little bow.

Shaking my head at him with a smile on my face, “Such a gentleman,” I mumbled as I walked into the small room while he quickly shut and locked the door behind us.
