I was grateful when I got to my regular, non-Junior, History class.

"Hey D, is something wrong?" Matt asked when I sat down.

"You don't want to know." I whispered as Mrs. Cox cleared her throat.

"I'm passing out the test from Monday. Anyone with a D or lower has to retake it. If anyone wants to retake it that has a higher grade than that, then just tell me."

A chorus of groans erupted from the class, but Mrs. Cox ignored them and started passing back the tests.

"Better luck next time, Ms. White." She said, handing me the paper with a giant D- on it.

I groaned and Matt chuckled, "Sucks to be you."

"Whatever. Like you passed-" I stopped short when he held up his A+. "Cheater."

He laughed, "Off of who? Definitely not you."

            "Bite me."

            "Any time."

            I rolled my eyes.

"Retake will be Friday. Be sure to study."

"Will you help me study?" I begged Matt when Mrs. Cox turned to face the board.

He sighed, acting annoyed, "If I must, then I guess I can help you tomorrow during homeroom."

I glared at him playfully, "I could always go ask Mike to do it for me. I'm sure he'd love to tutor me."

Matt cringed, "Not even right. Why you have to bring him in this?"

I laughed, "Paybacks a bitch. Remember that."

"So, is he gorgeous or are the rumors all lies?" Miranda asked, sitting down at our usual table that just so happened to be outside.

"Yes, my day was fine, thank you. Although I did fail a test." I said.

She sighed, "Point taken. Sorry. But seriously, is he hot?"

"Is who hot?" Matt asked, seeming to get over the cheerleaders doing their routine.

"The new British, English teacher." Miranda said, "So is he?"

            I groaned, "He's arrogant."

She raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"

"I mean, he's the type of guy that thinks he can do whatever he wants whenever he wants."

"Wow. So much hate for someone you've just met."

"Trust me. Hot or not, the guy's an ass."

Matt laughed and nudged Miranda with his elbow, "She's just saying that because he caught Tiffany threating her and he tried to get it out of her by using an "unfair" method and she fell for it."

I glared at him, "I did not fall for it."

            "Almost." He said tauntingly.
