Chapter Three- Where Am I
I woke up from my deep sleep, screaming into the night. I'd had a nightmare that I had been kidnapped and tortured by vampires. However the oddest thing was that I felt a strange ache in my neck. I ran my hand over the spot and felt a bandage over the area where I had been bitten in the nightmare. That's when the realization hit me. That was not a dream.
Frantically I looked around the room for anything familiar. I wasn't anywhere I had seen. The walls of this room were a tan color with only one picture on the wall. The only piece of furniture was the bed I was laying on. I couldn't think of how I'd gotten here. The last thing I remembered was that boy putting me in his car. The boy! He must have taken me to his house.
Quickly I got up from the bed and made my way to the door. I was about open it when I noticed what I was wearing. My jeans had been taken off and were replaced with flowing panjama pants. The shirt I had had on was also replaced with a large T-shirt that had a picture of a band on it. I knew I hadn't changed into these clothes myself. This had to mean someone else had to have done it for me. A raging anger rose inside of me as I wrenched the door open.
I didn't know my way around the house so it was hard to find the boy. Finally though I came across the kitchen to see him sitting at the dining table, sipping a cup of coffee. He looked up at me and gave me a smile. That was soon wiped off his face however when he saw my anger.
"Is there something wrong?" he asked me, coming to a halt in front of my much smaller body.
I had my arms crossed over my chest as I looked up at this boy. He had no right to act like he wasn't a bad person. For all I knew he planned on torturing me too but just had the decency to be a bit nice before.
"Hell yeah there's something wrong," I said with a warning tone. I'm sure this was the first time in my life I had actually managed to sound menacing.
"Whoa, calm down. What happened?"
I glared at him with such a coldness that I was surprised he hadn't turned to ice. I could tell though that my glare had affected him. He took a step back from me and looked into my eyes.
"Can you tell me how I got into these clothes?" I asked, just warming myself up before I began the worst batch of questions.
The boy actually looked down at the floor sheepishly. I'm sure that if this boy had been human he would have been blushing uncontrollably. "I couldn't get you to wake but your clothes were so bloody. I just decided that it would be best for me to change you out of your clothes so you didn't have to wear those filthy ones."
I snorted in disapproval, not believing a word he had said. How could I trust this boy? Yes he had just saved me from those vampires but he was a vampire himself. How could I just believe he wanted to help me and not use me for his own sick little game?
"So what is it you really want from me?" I asked. "If there is nothing then I would kindly ask you to take me home. I want nothing else to do with vampires. I would rather just forget about them altogether."
The boy looked at me in confusion. "Lily I thought we talked about this in the car. I was just coming to help you. Anyways I don't think it's a good idea for you to go back home. You could endanger your family and friends. Maybe it'd be best if you stayed with me for awhile. At least until the head gives up on you."
I gave the boy a cool look and said, "As far as I'm concerned I have no family or for that matter friends. My only friend went missing a year ago so really I have nothing to care about. I just want to go home because I honestly don't care what you have to think."
The boy's eyes squinted at me in frustration. I could see his nostrils flare as his anger became more and more evident. "Those vampires will stop at nothing to get you. Do you not care about your own life?"
"Not really. As I already stated I have nothing to go back for so I have nothing to live for," I said, shaking my head. I could tell the boy was about ready to explode. On the inside I was kind of enjoying his anger.
"You know what, I'm not letting you out of my sight. You obviously don't know what those vampires are capable of. Whatever they want from you they will stop at nothing to get it." I was about to add a snobby comment about being held against my will when the door was kicked open.
When I looked at the door I could see four very well muscled men. They were obviously vampires by the way their eyes glowed and the way they stared hungrily at the wound on my neck. I was too shocked to move but thankfully the boy grabbed me by the arm. Together we ran from the house, the vampires right on our tail...
