 First of all, I have to thank my husband. Without his support, this accomplishment, small as it might seem to others, could not have happened at all.

 Thanks go to Rachel Poe, my first reader. It was she that encouraged me to share The Gift with you. She insisted that it held some worth as a story, though I still debate what that worth might be.

 I would be an ungrateful cur if I failed to recognize the hours my editor, Jade Ykema, has invested into The Gift. She has listened to long discussions on Zemian cultures, faith, and holding the affection of a man whose loyalties lie with greater things than the woman he loves. Garrett and Sarah were stronger characters and, I hope, Zemia a more believable place, because of all those talks. I have said it before but it bears repeating: thank you my friend.

 A true heartfelt thanks goes out to the readers that commented and encouraged me on this journey. Donte, you believed in me from the beginning. Your faith in me pushed me through the dry spells, when the words couldn't seem to find their way to the paper. I knew that if I didn't post, even if no one else noticed, you would.
