Chapter 16

How Many Times

The Expendables

"Ok Scarlett."Andrew sighed, slinging his arm over my shoulders.

Sliding out of his arm quickly, I took a deep breath before glaring at him, "don't do that. What is it you're trying to say? We've been sitting on this bench for at least an hour."

"As my best friend in the entire world, I would appreciate it if you and Malory would get along. I don't want to have to choose between the two of you. It would break my heart either way."

"I just can't get along with her." I grumbled. No possible way. However, I do need her to expose her true self. How can I do it without her touching Ryan though? I don't want him to feel like shit because of me...well it would be her fault for touching him, but I'm still the one who started it.

There has to be another way.

"Can you at least be civilized? It would mean the world to me." Andrew pleaded, going to reach for my hand until I took another step away from him.

"I'm not going to talk to her. At all...unless she rambles on at the mouth, I just might have to rearrange it for her." I said, getting my point across.

"Scarlett." Andrew grumbled. I could see how irritated he was getting. "Do it for me. Please. Ignore her or something. I don't want to have to pick."

"Is that what she is making you do? Decide between the two of us?" I asked, my temper starting to rise. "You'd pick her wouldn't you? You would have to pick her." Unless they aren't really mates.

"I have to go. I can't talk to you right now." Andrew sighed, walking away from me towards his car.

"What the hell did I do?" I grumbled under my breath. I'm not being unfair am I? I don't think I am.

"You are." Ryan said, slowly walking up behind me. "Just put everything in the past and move on. Today is a new day. Don't dwell on what happened yesterday."

"I can't help it. She grinds my gears." That's an understatement. I answered, looking up at him as he put his hands on either side of my face.

Quickly pressing his lips to mine, he chuckled and said, "you are the most stubborn person I have ever met. So you're refusing to even be in the same room as her?"

"Yes." I stated, not a single doubt in my mind.

"And what happens when he chooses her?" Ryan asked softly.

"She'll have to face the consequences of making him choose in the first place."

"You just don't see reason do you?" Ryan laughed. "Let's forget about it for now. Go to dinner with me."

"Right now? Isn't it a bit early?"

"Nope. Now come on." Ryan smiled, holding out his hand for me to grab.

"Are we going to Taco Bell?" I asked as I slid my hand into his and took a step toward him.

"I was hoping a restaurant, but if that is where you want to go." He replied, shrugging his shoulders.

"That's where I want to go. I've been craving it for a good week." I said, walking along side him to the car. "How did you get here?"

"I walked. I didn't want you to be out here by yourself with the attacks that have been going on. I knew you were pissing Andrew off, so I made my way over here. Seems like I made it just in time."

"I forgot about the attacks. Have there been anymore?" I asked as he started driving towards Taco Bell.

"Two."
