Evelyn's POV

Here I was outside of Stefopoulos Enterprises. Nadia had come with me to give me courage but I believe that her real purpose was to make sure I didn't run away.

''Okay, Nadia. We arrived. You can go to your work.'' I said.

''Alright. Go inside and do what you came here to do. And call me to tell me details. Don't you dare back down.'' Nadia said.

''Ok. I hope it goes well.''

''It will. Now go in.''

''Bye, Nadia.''

''Bye and don't forget to call me.''

She got in her car and sped off. I took a deep breath and let it out. I opened the door and went to the elevator pushing the number 5. It seemed I had spaced out as the typical sound from the elevator brought me back to reality. I walked down to my boss's office and knocked the door.

''Come in.'' said a male voice that never stopped making me shiver with desire.

I opened the door and walked in ready to drop the bomb.

''Oh, Evelyn. Good morning. What do you want?'' my boss said.

My boss. Alexander Stefopoulos, the CEO of the Stefopoulos Enterprises. The very man was in love with. He was tall about 6' 2'' and well-built. His skin was tanned. It was like that from the combination of the many hours he spent under the sun due to his work with the shipping and his Greek heritage. He had brown hair that emphasized his blue eyes. Eyes that had me captivated from the first moment I looked into them. His character was somewhat interesting. He was ruthless and heartless in board meetings. Everyone in the business industry both feared and respected him. However, he was different with his family. His family was really close. They didn't let money affect their relationship.  He was really caring and protective of them. And his girlfriends. Even though I don't like this aspect of his character he was a player. He changes women every two weeks or sometimes he kept them for a month, but that was really rare.

''Good morning. I want to tell you something.'' I said quickly before I change my mind.

''Good morning. Go on.'' Alexander said without looking at me only focusing on his papers.

''Can you please look at me or at least stop working?'' I said pleading

I needed him to look at me when I tell him the news.

''I have many things to do. Can you hurry up and tell me?'' he said with a dismissing tone.

Since that night he always uses that tone when he speaks to me. He doesn't know it but each time he breaks my heart a little more. You'll say that he is a player. But that night he showed me a different side of him and I hoped that something changed. However, the next morning I found out the truth. I was just an aim. He wanted to sleep with me since the first time he saw me. That night was his chance. He made me swear not to tell anybody or else I'll be fired. After that, he left my house and me a sobbing mess trying to gather my heart's pieces.

''It's important, Alexander.'' I said annoyed.

''Is it about work?'' he asked.

''No, but-'' I started.

''Then it can wait.''

If he wanted to behave like this, then so be it. I can play this game, too. I took a large gulp of air and let it out.

''I'm pregnant.'' I said just above a whisper.

But Alexander heard me. If how his breath hitched and how the atmosphere was filled with tension were any signs. I waited for some kind of reaction, but nothing. He just stood there, pen in his hand, eyes wide with shock and body tensed. I left him in that position and went to cancel all his appointments for at least an hour because judging from his reaction and the news, it'll be difficult to comprehend all these things.
