“So, what do you want to do?” Nick asked me. We were sitting down outside on the side walk. I sighed, frustrated that I had to be with him. “I want get away from you,” I told him. “Well, that’s not exactly what I meant, but anyways, wanna go see a movie?”I shook my head and stared down at the pavement. I really hope Kevin wouldn’t see us. “Will you look at me for once? All you’ve done is stare down at the ground and ignore me for the past half hour,” Nick said.

I crossed my arms and ignored him. He sighed and shook his head. “You know what? We’re going to the mall,” he told me. He got up and I just stayed there like a statue.

He sighed again and grabbed my hand. “Come on,” he said and pulled it lightly. I shook my head like a little kid. He pulled it lightly again.

I couldn’t help but remember the time John pulled my hand to get my up and hit me. I quickly snatched my hand back and felt tears starting to form.

Nick stood there with a confused expression and finally noticed the tears forming. “Are you okay?” he asked. I didn’t say anything. He kneeled down next to me.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to pull your hand that hard. Did it hurt?” he asked. I remembered how John used to act sarcastic and ask me if it hurt. My tears fell down to my cheek.

“It’s not that,” I said as I turned my head away.

“I’m sorry for saying we were going to the mall then, we could do something else. We could just sit down and do nothing if you want,” he told me. I shook my head again and stood up.

“It’ okay, I was just thinking about something,” I said as I wiped my tears away. Nick stood up and looked at me.

“Are you sure? We could talk about it if you want, but if you don’t then it’s okay. We could pretend this never happened if you want,” he told me.

I nodded and wiped the remaining tears away.

“Okay, thanks,” I tried to smile. He smiled at me, but it wasn’t like other times. The smile he had right now was a true smile, one that came from the heart.

“Come on, let’s go inside and get some food. I’m starving,” Nick said.I nodded and we went inside.

As we made our way to the kitchen, I couldn’t help but feel someone watching us. I just ignored it though.

Once we were in the kitchen, Nick opened the fridge and took out a glass with a blue sticky note on it. The sticky note had ‘Nick’s’ written on it. The liquid inside it was red and looked thick. Nick drank a little and closed the fridge.

I looked at him as he sat down at the table. “You wouldn’t like it, trust me,” he said. I sat down next to him. “How do you know that?” I asked. He smiled at me and said, “Just trust me.”I laughed and took it out of his hands.

“Like I would trust you,” I told him. He pretended to be shocked and I laughed. I took a sip of the red liquid and found it tasted really good.

“Wow, that’s really good!” I told him. He looked shocked. I drank some more as he looked at me with the same expression. “What is it anyways?” I asked.

He didn’t say a word. “Nick? You okay?” I asked.

“Were you just kidding about it tasting good?” he asked. I was a bit confused.

“No, why?” I asked as I drank the rest.

“Because, that’s blood,” he told me. I made a face and looked inside the glass.

“That’s weird,” I said. He nodded and said, “The weirdest part is that when I human drink a lot of blood like that, it’s supposed to taste nasty.”

Maybe I like it because I’m the white rabbit. But I can’t have Nick knowing that. “Then why where you drinking it?” I asked, quickly changing the subject. He thought about it.

 I gave him a ‘that’s what I thought’ look.

“Fine, I’m a vampire,” he told me. “What? You’re lying!” I said. He shook his head.

“Then how come you don’t have speed?” I asked him.

“Well, not all vampires have speed, Ms. Smarty-pants. I have a different power,” he told me. “Which is…?” I trailed off.

“I can see the future,” he told me. I laughed as he glared at me.

“Yeah, right,” I said.

“I’m not lying! This morning I had a vision that Kevin was in the library reading some paper,” he told me. I just kept on laughing.

“I also saw you walking in a hallway and tripping over a rig with triangles on it,” he told me. My laughter only grew. He sighed and smiled at me.

“There is no way I’ll be able to convince you, is there?” he asked. I nodded my head in agreement. “Well, I might as well give up while I’m behind,” he sighed.

I finally stopped laughing and looked up at him. He was smiling right at me. I wasn’t sure what he was smiled about and I gave him a confused look. “What is it?” I asked. He just kept on smiling at me innocently.

“Nothing,” he finally said. I shrugged it off.
