CHAPTER FOUR
THE PLAN
The sound of my alarm woken me up the next morning."Oh good... Monday again" a new week.
Great.
I put on my watch; my wrist was no longer hurting. I got up. Picked my black jeans. Sniffed a yellow t-shirt and put it on. I was running out of clean clothes. My hair was a mess today. I just did a ponytail with it. I put on my black converse shoes. Underlined my eyes, pink lipstick. And I was ready to go.I didn't have breakfast as usual. You'd think my mom was used to it by now. But she was always up to make me something and she always complained when I said no. That was our little morning ritual I guess. Alexa always had breakfast. That was enough to please my mom.At school I met with Jenny and Pete in the front of the school. And they were looking at me with huge grins. Suspicious grins."What?" "Don't pretend you don't know. We're going no matter what you say" Jenny said."What?" I said again confused now."You really don't know?" Pete asked frowning confused too."No I don't, tell me!" I demanded."Your sister is having a party at your house this Friday"
What?
Our school didn't have many events and because of that the popular kids were always competing with each other. About who could make the best party? And as my sister being one of the popular kids. The most popular for that matter. And as we had the house for ourselves almost every weekend. She used to have a lot of parties. And I always told Jenny and Pete that we shouldn't go, we wouldn't fit it or some other lame excuse. And as usual they didn't argue with me and we spent those nights together at Jenny's of Pete's house.Alexa stopped having parties once she was bored of it."Why?" I asked and I started realizing that this may be part of her 'getting Isaac attention plan'"Your parents are leaving to Vegas for the weekend" Jenny told me.
How does she know this and nobody in my family told me?
"Didn't they tell you?" Pete asked incredulous."No" I frowned."Oh, but we're going all right?" he warned."Actually the whole school is going" Jenny handed me a pink piece of paper. "She made flyers!?" I shouted.
Why didn't she tell me?
But then I remembered I didn't speak to her this morning."Relax. It'll be fun" Jenny said taking the flyer of my hands."Hell yeah it'll be, because we'll be there" Pete said and winked at me.We separated and walked to our own classes. My first classes were boring. And at lunch in the cafeteria I got to see my sister on action.All over Brian. Isaac didn't look jealous if you asked me. But my sister was indeed trying. She had her hand on Brian's shoulder. And she laughed at everything he said.The cheerleaders were trying to hide their jealousy faces with fake smiles. Brian had been with every one of those girls of course. But they know that if there was a girl that could be with him more than one night. That girl was Alexa.I turned my attention to my own table. Jenny and Pete were having a secret conversation. "What are you talking about?" I asked breaking the whispering."I was telling Jenny how Carl has so much interest in you" Pete said with a hint of jealous in his tone. "Really? He called me last night" I said and Jenny raised her eyebrows.
"What did he want?" Pete asked a bit possessive."He wanted to see me but it was late so I said no" I answered and he relaxed "He told me you give him my number""I didn't" he said confused.We looked at Jenny "I didn't either" she defended herself."Well whatever. Why do you think he's interested anyway?" I asked Pete.He hesitated for a moment "he told me"
Huh a direct boy
I thought
direct enough to ask me to go to his house last night.
"Are you interested in him?" Jenny asked interrupting my thoughts."I don't know. I barely know him" I answered shortly because Pete seems like he's about to hit someone."We should invite him to the party" she suggested."Hell no!" Pete snapped. Jenny looked at me with pleading eyes."Sure invite him" I told her. Pete stood up and sighed "I'll ask him" then he walked out of the cafeteria."Thank you" Jenny whispered."Anytime" I winked at her.Sure she wanted Carl to be there. That way Pete would be with her all night. But that only meant I'd be with Carl all night... so what? It's my house. Nothing could happen, right? What could happen anyway? Today hadn't been a good morning; Mr. Shobs gave me extra work in his first class because I wasn't 'paying attention' to his fabulous class. And I have my last class with him too.
