SHORT STORY: The Story of Millissa
(A short story by Katie Pettinger, Aged 10. Written in the car on the 8th April, 2009) One day a girl called Millissa hated her life. She always wanted to be popular because everybody picked on her, but she had friends called Ella and Jeniffer. Everyday she always cried because she felt like the only people that liked her were her family and friends. Millissa had a little sister called Milly and an older brother called Matt. One day she went to school and she had changed her attitude to a popular version, and was wearing rich clothes. Her 2 friends called her but she ignored them and went talking to the popular kids. They all said "Guess what, you can join our popular club. You are now popular". "Yae" said Millissa. Her friends got really annoyed and Jenniffer and Ella kicked Millissa out of their handshake. Millissa did not care. The popular kids were using her though. They said "We are having a party tonight, you're invited". Millissa said "Where?" "At your house, alright? We will be round at 6 o'clock sharp." Millissa ran home and said to her family to get out of the house. They did. The popular kids and Jennifer and Ella were all at the park. Ella and Jennifer overheard the popular kids saying they were just using her and they are not actually going to the party. Ella and Jenniffer ran to Millissa's house. "Millissa, the popular girls are using you; they are not coming to your house either." Millissa did not believe them. "Yeah right, go home!" "Why won't you believe" said the girls? "Just go home!" 6:01 No one was there. Millissa thought she was so stupid. The next day Millissa went to Jennifer and Ella and said "I'm sorry. Can we be friends?" They said "Yes. Best friends - for ever" THE END Remember: Never want to be popular, because you will lose your old friends. Just be you - You are unique! --- Feedback so far... * "Fantastic! Well done Katie, that is so true!!!" * "I really liked the story - and the Scottish accent!" * "Well read and well written Katie...it normally takes a long time to realise that people with their own opinions are the most interesting. Jesus describes us as sheep... I don't think he meant we have to be all alike tho'! Good Job" HEAR the AUTHOR reading this story by visiting: http://audioboo.fm/boos/6548-katie-s-story or http://is.gd/sPUw [Shortened URL]
