CHAPTER ONE
FIRST DAY
The first day of school went as I thought it'll be. All classes boring as hell. No new classmates to make fun of.Although I got to see my friends. I'd missed them over the winter break.Jenny spent her vacation with her grandma; she said it was fun but that the old lady was weird. She lives in a little town a few hours away called Circe. This semester we didn't have as many classes together as we had last semester. I just have one class with Jenny and one with Pete. I do not like this new schedule.Finally in my last class, I was considering bolting saying my stomach hurts or something.Then the most amazing thing happened. Mr. Shobs fell out of his chair and the whole class laughed at him. We couldn't help it. That fall made my day. I was laughing my ass off. Then everybody went silent. They were looking at the door. I fallowed my classmate's glances and I saw a guy entering the classroom. A new guy. I noticed his shoulder-length black hair, tied back in a short ponytail. Pale fair skin, paler than mine and Jenny's, I couldn't see the color of his eyes from where I was sitting but what I could see was that's he was wearing black jeans and a black t-shirt. With a crescent moon on his chest! Just like the one I chosen to wear this morning. That's the cover of the CD of a local rock band. They have like ten fans and I thought nobody at this school knew them.He handed Mr. Shobs a paper and he ordered him to sit down. He walked to the only seat available in the last row. When he walked next to me, I dared to look up. He noticed me and stared at my chest. I felt awkward but then I remembered my t-shirt. That's what he was looking at. I looked down realising from his eyes. And he sat down behind me. And I could feel his eyes stabbing my back the whole time. The bell rang. I stood up quickly wanting to be the first one to leave the classroom. But a hand grabbed my arm. I turned around and it was him. The new guy. I could see the color of his eyes now. They were jade green. Beautiful eyes with tick dark eyelashes around them, I stared at him unable to speak. He did first "You know that band? 'Crescent moon'?" he asked staring at my chest again or rather my t-shirt design."Y-Yeah" I finally managed to say.That was all he said. He studied my face for a moment, then frowned, loosened the grip on my arm and headed to the door. I stayed there breathless like a stupid girl on a trance. Mr. Shobs made me snap out of it "Ms. Hatley did you enjoy my fall?" I remembered it and repressed a smile "I'm very sorry Mr. Shobs, but those things happen right?" I said turning to him. Then I walked toward the door. He stopped me again "Yes of course, but I noticed you enjoyed it the most. And I was hoping you could join us in the detention room" he said with a tone that didn't sound like I really had a choice."Mr. Shobs is the first day! Are you serious? Because I laughed? Everybody did" complained but it didn't help."See you in ten minutes ms. hatley" was all he said.Well at least he was giving me ten minutes to go to the bathroom or something. I walked outside the classroom. And watched the front doors of the building, I hesitated for a moment considering going home. But that would just make things worse tomorrow. I just have to endure the next hour.I spent a lot of time in detention last semester. That was what happened when the teacher in charge of detention hated you. Lucky me.In the bathroom I found Alexa and Holly, her best friend or at least the one that was always with her. And that also dressed and acted like her. An Alexa wannabe. "Hi sis, how was your first day?" Alexa asked me.Holly made a face of disgust at me and moved to the other side of my sister."Well I got detention for laughing. How was yours?"
