Chapter 1
Let The Games Begin
I speed off onto the road dodging cars as I was making my way to the hospital. I couldn’t seem to get him out of my head. The way he leaned against the wall watching me… Kind of creepy actually...why was he watching me like that? I was snapped out of my thoughts when I felt Tara’s arms griping me harder she must be in a lot of pain the wound was not a good one and it has been left untreated for awhile. I took a left and pulled up into a parking lot. I took off my helmet then helped Tara with hers I helped her get off the bike and saw her wince in pain I could now see the blood tricking down her hand and onto the floor. It’s bleeding again I helped her into the emergency room and I heard her whisper
“I don’t have my health card” I smiled and looked at her
“Don’t worry I got this” I said with a smile
I knew without her health card they won’t see her but she needs help and I will stop at nothing to make sure she gets it.
I helped her into a seat and made my way over to the receptionist who looked up at me questionable
“Hey Lucy”
“Amber” she said nodding her head
“I need a favor” I said with a smile
----
I walked back over to Tara and smiled
“Come on they’ll see you now”
“But how?” She asked
I laughed “Stop worrying I took care of it”
The doctors had taken longer than I thought turns out she needed stitches and they had given her a shot along with some antibiotics. Apparently she could have picked up an infection or something since the wound was pretty deep and was left untreated for so long.
I looked down at my watch 9 pm
I climbed onto my bike. We were headed to Tara’s house I don’t know much about her family other then the fact that she’s rich just like my family. I pulled my bike in front of her house and took off my helmet. Her house was amazing not as big as mine but still pretty huge it had a fountain in the middle of the driveway and a million stairs that lead to her front door. The walls of the home were a beautiful beige colour. She had an amazing rose garden that surrounded the house.
I slowly moved over to Tara and helped her off my bike I was careful not to touch her arm. I then pulled off her helmet and that’s when I heard the front door open and a man and woman scurry out.
The reached Tara in a matter of minutes and were hugging and kissing her I stood there awkwardly and moved back toward my bike and leaned against it. Her parents I presume. She looks just like them…she had her mother soft blue eyes and her father dark brown hair. I stood there and smiled it was cute her parents really did love her and I took that as my queue to leave. I opened up my seat to put the helmet Tara used in it then closed it I was about to swing my leg over my bike when I heard Tara call me.
“Amber!”
I turned to face her and saw her smile
“Where are you going?”
I sat there and thought about it to be honest I didn’t even know…
I knew for a fact I wasn’t going home I knew my father would be there waiting for me but she didn’t need to know that
“Home I guess” She looked at me and I could see the sadness fill her eyes
“Please stay” She said
I looked at her confused
“For dinner at least” her mother had said
I smiled and nodded my head
Tara turned and looked back at her parents before she told them what had happened
Both her parents stood there in complete shock and looked over at me
In a matter of seconds I was in her mother arms.
“Oh thank you thank you so much” she cried “You saved my daughter you saved her”
I smiled against her shoulder and held her back
“I’m sure she would have done the same for me”
Her mother pulled me out of her arms and smiled let’s go have some dinner she said as she wiped her tears
I nodded my head and made my way into the house
---
I was picking up the plates when I heard Tara’s mother
“No It’s alright dear we have Amy to help with that” She nodded her head toward the maid and I smiled
“I should get going then” I said as I made my way toward the door “Thank you for dinner”
Both Tara and her mother were following after me turns out her father had left work when he found out his daughter didn’t return home from school and had to go back immediately.
