I traipsed up the steps into school the next morning like a zombie a warm coffee in my hand. Damn. What time did I got to bed last night? I wasn't in the best of moods. Yesterday hadn't been brilliant at school, and I didn't really expect it to get better. Kale was still in bed with me this morning, he made it hard getting out of bed put it that way. He was way to comfy. And hot, and sexy and.... A loud honking sounded behind me as I reached the top of the steps to the entrance. I turned round a scowl on my face. "Lovin' that ass!" Yelled Kale from the car. He winked at me.
I growled and raised my middle finger towards him. "Have 'FUN!' " He laughed growling the engine, before speeding off. "ASS!" I yelled after him. A group of girls hanging by the door giving me dirty looks whispered low insults between themselves. I rolled my eyes. "Yeah fuck you too." I said pulling the finger at them as I passed through the doors. "Woah! Watch were your going !" Exclaimed a male voice as I shoved through a crowd of boys loitering just inside the doors. "Sexy lady!"
Wolf whistles and cat calls, suggestive looks, and wiggly eyebrows. Joy oh sweet fucking joy. "Fuck off." I muttered pushing past the last boy, a tall boy with brown hair down to his shoulders and a tattoo snaking up his arm. "Jesus suck it in woman!" He growled pushing my shoulder after I shouldered past. "Do that again and I'll make sure no woman does." I growled snapping my head in his direction and giving him a furious glare. I was so not in the mood for smart remarks this morning.
There were chuckles of laughter from his mates and he let out a string of insults. "Who the fuck is she?" he asked angrily.
"Dunno, just some new chick."
"A HOT new chick." One muttered as I stormed down through the entrance hall gritting my teeth, and mentally advising myself not to start something this early. Besides I'd probably end up spilling my coffee.
I pushed a strand of hair behind my ear and took a long sip of my coffee as I made my way down the hall. A hand slapped onto my shoulder. "Shit!" I yelled giving a slight jump.
"Oups, sorry Kaela haha!" Laughed Ben his green eyes twinkling. "Geeez you nearly made me spill my damn coffee!" I growled punching him in the shoulder.
Ben strode into step beside me. "Sooo... what do you have first?" He asked cheerfully striking up classic conversation.
"Hard tech I think."
I took another sip of my coffee and then figured he was staring at me. "What?" I asked irritably.
"Hard tech, really?" He asked his voice filled with genuine surprise.
"Yeah. Rather that then sewing pretty lace dresses in fabrics right?!"
I clicked the combination of my locker and then passed Ben my coffee so I could empty my bag.
"Mmmmm yeah...right. Is this a latte?"
Ben inhaled deeply and then tipped the cup about to take a sip.
"Long black actually." I said taking the cup out of his hands before he had a taste.
"Smells, kinda strong now that you mention it."
Ben's nose wrinkled slightly as he eyed the coffee.
"It's only two shots?"
"It's in a small cup though, it's suppose to be in a larger cup isn't it?"
"I don't know, Kale bought it for me this morning." I shrugged.
Ben sidestepped closer to me out of the way of a large group of kids who walked past us.
"Did he now?"  He grinned giving me a look.
I glared at him.
"Oh fuuucccc..." I groaned hanging back behind Ben.
"What..?"
Ben looked over his shoulder at me.
"KEEP WALKING!" I hissed gripping hold of his t-shirt.
"Haha no shit!" Laughed Andrew Williams strode past with his group of mates.
I turned my face away into Bens t-shirt as he walked past and let out a sigh of relief.
"Who was that?" Ben laughed.
"Andrew." I muttered peeking over my shoulder and watching Andrews blonde head disappear down the hall.
"Oh the dude that harassed you yesterday..."
"Shut it!" I hissed through my teeth.
Without having to look, I already knew a grin was spreading across this face.
"You keep smiling like that and people will start getting ideas. Stop it!"
Ben gave a loud cough which only just disguised his laugh.
As Andrew's crowd disappeared out of sight I broke away from Ben and gave a sigh of relief. Geeezus.
" And Kale doesn't know anything about this yet?" Chuckled Ben shaking his head.
"No. And I'd prefer it to stay this way." I muttered already imagining what would happen. Kale would likely ...hell he WOULD be furious. Then the only thing we could do would be to plan the poor guys funeral.
"This your class." Asked Ben bringing me out of my thoughts.
The halls were now quiet. Great late to class. Brilliant.
"Okay, I'll see you later then." I said giving a sloppy salute to my forehead. Ben grinned and returned the salute before striding off down the corridor his burgundy rucksack lazily slung over one shoulder.
I gritted my teeth as I pulled open the door and stepped into the hard tech room. Instantly the smell of wood shavings, oil, vanish and paint hit my nose along with the unmistakeable smell of boys. My stomach dropped  as I took in the sight of my new class mates. Well fuck me. 22 sets of eyes were turned towards me and I felt my upper lip twitch into a grizzle. Well lets hope Kale doesn't ask about this...
"Hello?"
I turned. A man in loose fit jeans and a checkered red, black and white lumber jack shirt was looking at me with a greying eyebrow raised in question. "..Hi.." I said slowly not sure what his reaction was going to be.
He looked at me and seconds ticked by. "Fabrics is upstairs." He said dismissing me instantly and turning back to the white board where diagrams in green and blue had been drawn.
I bristled at his instant dismissal.
"..You'll want to make sure to keep a good centimetre clearance of your..."
"I'm not here for fabrics." I said keeping my voice level at the dreaded mention of fabrics.
The teacher gave an impatient sigh." Fine. Cooking is down the hall way and to your left." He said
"Hah sad Sir!" Called one of the boys from the back of the class room, leaning back on his chair with a grin spread across his face.
"Believe it or not I'm not here for that either. Now, are you gonna fire more ridiculous assumptions at me, or can I sit down?"
The teacher finally turned round to face me, properly acknowledging me. "Sure go ahead." He said with little to no compassion.
I quickly scanned the room for the first free seat and began making my way to it, not daring to look at who I was going to be sitting next to. "That's gonna have to go."
I bit the sides of my cheek to stop myself from saying something that was going to get me in a lot of trouble.
"What?" I asked turning to face the teacher.
"I don't like the smell of coffee." He said plainly shrugging his shoulders.
"It's my coffee. Bought and paid for. I'm going to drink it." I said sweetly.
"My class room my rules. Bin the coffee." He said picking up the trash can and holding it out to me.
Oh we were SO not going to get along. I brought the coffee up to my lips and began to skull as much as I could before I reached the bin. The coffee burnt down my throat. I began to shuffle in front of the bin, taking my time. The teacher cleared his throat. "The bin please."
"Can't I at least just drink it now?"
"No."
"There's still over half of it left!" I growled.
"Tough."
"Well now were both going to have a shit morning." I snapped chucking the coffee into the bin hoping that some was going to splash out onto his shirt. The cup clanged at the bottom and there were laughs from behind me.
The teacher's eye brows frowned down at me. "And why would you think that?"
"Well for one, I just threw away my coffee. That coffee was going to wake me up because I'm tired as fuck." I growled the swear words beginning to roll off my tongue. " And now I'm going to be a grumpy shit who' s going to make sure that you have one HELL of a morning." I said sweetly giving him a fake smile. I turned and stormed over to the spare seat, tossed my bag down loudly and scrapped back the stool seat at the bench.
When in my seat I rested my chin in my hand and glared up at the front.
"Now, as I was saying...."
And from there he carried on with his insane drawings which made next to no sense. When he'd finished I still hadn't bothered to look at who was sitting next to me, and when I  did I didn't know where the I wanted to laugh or cry. Tom was sitting there almost shrivelling into his seat looking about as uncomfortable as I felt.

Our first mini project was to build a bird house each. We had to design it from scratch, build it and paint it. Ironic that I had to build a birds house no?
"New girl. Go and work next to Nardia she'll help you out." Said Mr Jeens
"Nardia? Who's that?" I wondered out loud.
"Hey white chick over here!" Boomed a loud voice from across the room.
I looked to where the voice had come from and a smile grew on my face. A short spunky black girl stood waving at me with a power tool in her hand. For a few minutes all I could do was stare at the her hair; it was a shoulder length eruption of glossy black tight curls. Every time she moved her hair seemed to bounce with her, it was amazing!
