People and Events: Brand Loyalty

A largely controversial topic. Brand Loyalty.

If you don't know what brand loyalty is, its basically where a person will choose something with a higher or price. Or, something will be so expensive, just because it has a certain logo on it. I personally hate this, only because people are so blindly stupid that its very hilarious.

I have three main examples, and i'm sure the more I go on, some little ones will pop up. One, Clothing. Two, Electronics. Three, Food.

First up, clothing. I absolutely hate new clothing. Some things are just really overpriced, only because it has a certain logo on it. Clothing stores like Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, Aeropostale, American Eagle, and Nike are just a few. To me, when you wear this clothing, you are just a walking billboard. How? I haven't seen a shirt made by Aeropostale, Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, and Hollister that hasn't have had their logo smacked right on the front. No interesting prints, just HOLLISTER or AM. EAGLE on the front. Then comes the prices. Some shirts and pants can cost upwards to 15-40 bucks! Some even more! And truthfully, they are't any different material wise than any other shirt. I really don't think its worth it. Some may argue with me, but all those shirts I've seen are all a huge billboard. Also, women's clothing, don't even get me started. Four grand for a purse?! Really Micheal Kors?

Next is electronics. Oh man. Apple, Sony, Beats, etc. This is definetly where brand loyalty steps in the most. Apple makes the new iPad Mini twice as expensive as the Kindle Fire HD. Beats by Dr.Dre make headphones ten times more expensive than a nice pair of 20$ headphones. Sony makes an expensive 400$ 30-inch television, while HANNspree makes one for about 20% less with very unoticable difference. I think I have just about made my point, don't you think? And don't start coming to me in the comments telling me how Beats are just sooooo cool. NEWSFLASH! They aren't. They are made in a sweatshop in China, and are just another pair of headphones. Oh, and please tell me how you bought those 200$ headphones yourself??

Food isn't a huge topic, but really there is only one thing I truly notice is soda. In my opinion, the generic brands taste better, but you're paying half the money as a name brand. Same goes for candy and other foods.

Thats about it. Short, sweet, and to the point. Not the best rant, but got some actual facts and feelings out! Yay for ranting!
