Lean with the Wind

Tonight as snow falls,

like the star dust of days gone by,

i lean into the wind.

The whispers it carries help me slide away,

until i am but a ghost,

i pour my heart into the moon above,

as it cast no shadow below.

Whistling through the old familiar places,

the shadows that once waited there remain,

like my soul had more patients to wait for your return,

than my frame, which is weary and has grown tired.

Youth is passing and i fear the days to come,

not of the unknown they present me,

but of the moments that will be lost without you here.
