Epilogue

Lexi walked out of her room that was given to her as soon as she arrived at Ryan’s fathers pack house. She made her way down the hall way trying her best not to run. It had been over a month since she had left the school and today was the first time since then that she would see Anne. As she walked down the stairs her excitement doubled when she recognised Anne’s voice coming from the lounge room. Not able to help herself she picked up her pace and raced down the stairs and into the room.

“Anne!” She yelled in excitement.

“Lexi!” Anne screamed running to her.

“I can’t believe you are here” Lexi said hugging her.

“I know I was so happy when dad said he would be coming here”

They pulled back from their hug and stared at each other smiling. “Hello Lexi dear you look well”

It was then that she realized that they were not alone in the room “Hello Alpha Redclaw” Lexi said smiling, she let go of Anne and walked over to him and gave him a hug

“It’s good to see you Lexi” He said

“You too sir” She said smiling at him.

“Ok well Lexi and I need some girl alone time” Anne said before grabbing hold of Lexi’s arm and dragging her out of the room. They raced up stairs to Lexi’s room as soon as the door was shut behind them Anne turned and looked at her “So how is Ryan”

Lexi shrugged her shoulders “Ok I guess, I haven’t really had much of a chance to see him since we have gotten here. His father has kept him busy with Alpha business” Lexi said with a sigh.

“Oh I’m sorry Lexi” She said.

“It’s fine Anne, he needs to try and learn everything there is to know in case he has to take over as Alpha sooner than planned.”

“Do you like it here?” Anne asked

“Everyone here was very welcoming and nice to me,”

“Yes but that does not answer my question”

She sighs “I don’t know Anne I think I just miss you too much to really enjoy it here.”

“You don’t have to go through with it you know?”

“I’m not going to back out just because I miss you” Lexi said shaking her head.

“Ok I just wanted to make sure you knew that you didn’t have to go through with it is all”

“Thanks Anne, but I want to mate with Ryan, he is nice and sweet and is not afraid to stand up to anyone for me, he loves me” She said softly

“When will the mating ceremony be?” She asked “You will be inviting me won’t you?”

“Of course you are invited. We haven’t set a date yet. Ryan has been so busy we decided to wait until things settle down a bit.”

“I heard Chase postponed the wedding again” Anne said changing the subject.

Lexi rolled her eyes “Why doesn’t he just call the whole thing off, it obvious he doesn’t want to marry her”

“Come on Lexi could you imagine his mother if he did, he probably thinks it would be less of a head ache if he just marry her”

“Yeah that is true, that women is a bitch.”

Anne burst out laughing “I am surprised you never punched her in the face, all those time she was being a cow to you and you managed to keep your cool.”

Lexi just shrugged her shoulders “I thought about doing it, but I would have just gotten myself into more trouble.”

“Have you heard from Sam?” Anne asked

“Yeah” Lexi said nodding her head “He said he is missing me”

“Does he know yet whose custodian he will be when he graduates?”

Lexi nodded her head a wide smile forming on her lips “Yep, he will be mine”

They both burst out laughing “Are you serious?” Anne asked

“Yeah, Ryan said that I needed to have guards now that I will be the future Alpha female” She said shrugging her shoulders. “So I asked for Sam”

“What did he say when he found out he would be your Custodian?”

“Well that’s the thing, he doesn’t know it’s me he will be guarding, and all he knows is that he has been asked to guard a future Alpha Female.” She laughed again. “You should have heard him Anne, when he called to tell me. He was talking about how it was about time the royals noticed his skills”

Both girls burst out laughing “I am so going to be here when he graduates and finds out it is you he will be guarding”

“Yeah I actually can’t wait for him to get here” She said with a small sad smile “I haven’t seen him since I have left the school. I have missed not having him around”

A knock at the door stopped Anne from talking, Lexi walked over and opened it to find one of the servants standing there. The servant bowed her head “Alpha Millar wishes to speak with you.” She said softly.

“Thank you Lee” Lexi said to the servant, she had taken her time when she first arrived to get to know the servants in the house. She may now be classed as a royal but that didn’t mean she was going to change who she was.

Both girls made their way out of the room and headed back down stairs to where Alpha Millar was waiting with Alpha Redclaw. As soon as they entered the room Lexi noticed that Ryan was now in there. He walked over to her and took her hand in his “Hey” He said softly.

“Hey” She said smiling at him.

“What’s going on?” She heard Anne ask.

Lexi looked away from Ryan and noticed the grim looks on everyone’s face, Alpha Redclaw looked furious. She looked back at Ryan and frowned “Is something wrong?” She asked.

He released a loud sigh “It’s Skinner”

“What about her?” She asked.

“She has somehow escaped her prison cell.”

She frowned at him “How?”

“We suspect that someone had helped her, the lock had been broken on the outside of the cell, we only just found out. They think she has been gone for about an hour”

Lexi felt her anger rise “Why would anyone help her escape?”

“Obviously there are still some custodians that are not happy with the way things are.” Alpha Redclaw said.

“That doesn’t sound right” Lexi said frowning

“Hey” Ryan said placing a hand on her arm “Don’t worry, we will find her. She can’t run forever. The trackers will hunt her down.”

Lexi nodded her head at him “I hope you’re right.” She said to him. She looked over at Anne and couldn’t help but worry about her safety. She was a target of Skinner and Simons when she was at the school. What if Skinner decided to go after her again. She looked back at Ryan and for the first time since she had left the school she wondered if she had made the right choice giving up being a Custodian. She didn’t know what the future held but she did know one thing. She would find a way to make sure that all the people she cared about was safe.

Ok guys so that is it for the first book, the will be a sequel. I don’t know when exactly I still have two other books to finish and they both will be having sequels as well. I have found posting three books at once is exhausting so I won’t be doing that again so I hope you will all be patient with me for the next book.
