Running From Love - On Hold

Chapter Two

As soon as we left school grounds Shadow passed me to a group of guys who knocked me out with chloroform.

“Leave me alone…” I said trailing off as the blackness overcame me.

When I came to, I realized I was I was in my old room in the pack house.

“Girls she’s awake!” I heard a familiar voice shriek.

“Valerie?” I asked drowsily as I stretched and sat up.

“Annabelle! We like so missed you!” Valerie shrieked smiling and giving me a hug.

“Val! I am so glad I’m back!” I screamed back smiling. “How did I get here?” I asked frowning.

“Well… Um… Alpha Shadow brought you here.” She said nervously.

“Uh! He’s such a jerk, he threatened my brothers, knocked them out and then knocked me out!” I screamed frustrated.

“Anna, I have to tell you something.” Val said fiddling with her thumbs.

“What is it?” I asked frowning.

“Not here, get up and we’ll go for a walk in the forest where no one can hear.” She whispered quietly.

As I got ready to go for a walk I realized I didn’t have any of my clothes. That’s when I noticed an outfit placed out for me obviously by Val. She always dresses me in the sluttiest clothes. I got into a black mini skirt and a black tank top. I threw on the black combat boots she tossed to me when I got out of the room and I was ready.

Val and I ran out the large ornate back door to the pack house and into the forest.

One of the best things about the pack house? Forest accessibility.

“So what is it?” I whispered to Val suddenly nervous.

“Shadow saw you for the first time while you had been taking a walk in the forest. But you were with your brothers so he didn’t make a move. I found out using my awesome skillage and told Zev.” She said pointing to her head. She’s one of many mind readers in the pack.

“He was so mad, he told your other brother and they all agreed to keep you away from him. After they took you away the first time, Shadow went insane. His wolf took over and he trashed the whole alpha level of the house. They ended up taking some of the clothes you left behind with your scent on them to calm him down. When he calmed down enough he began the search. Eight months later he finally found you.” She said looking around nervously.

“Why are you so nervous I asked frowning.

“I wasn’t supposed to tell you any of this.” She whispered crying. Suddenly her whole body jerked forward and she fell to the ground writhing in pain. He must have used the alpha voice on the pack.

“It’s going to be okay Val.” I said picking her up and bringing her back out of the forest and into the pack house.

“Shadow!” I screamed into the house.

“Yeah babe?” he said appearing out of nowhere. He looked me up and down his eyes flashing red with anger. “Take those clothes off.” He said angrily.

“Oh shut up.” I snapped angrily. “Tell Valerie that it was okay for her to tell me what she told me.” I said tearing up as she jerked forward again in my arms screaming in pain.

“She violated orders, she deserves what she gets.” He hissed frowning.

“Shadow, I hate you so much!” I screamed tears streaming down my face as Valerie screamed again. “How can you be so heartless? She is hurting! She’s in your pack for gods sake!” I screamed at his shocked face. He covered it with a look of indifference.

“I don’t care.” He replied jutting his chest out a little.

“Shadow, you will help her or I swear to god I will never talk to you again you jerk!” I screamed. He stiffened.

“Valerie Druella Trey, you are exempt from my previous order. You are freed from the hold.” He said coldly. Valerie stopped screaming and huddled into a ball on the floor whimpering.

“I can’t believe you.” I whispered before picking Valerie up into my arms and bring her upstairs to my room.

I started hot bath, took off her clothes and put her into it lightly. Val and I have seen each other naked before so it's no big deal.

“Thank you.” She whispered hoarsely.           

“I’m so sorry.” I said brushing her long blonde locks into a bun on top of her head.

“It wasn’t your fault, I just had to tell you.” She said pinching her temple.

“”Val, where are my brothers?” I asked frowning.

“I don’t know, I think they may have been put into punishment.” She said crying. “Poor Zev.” she sobbed into her hands. Her and Zev are mates. She loves him with all her heart.

“I will find him.” I said fiercely. “I’ll be right back Val.” I said squeezing her hand.

As I made my way down to the basement and pushed open the door to punishment I never could have imagined what I saw then.

It's a little shorter but it's pretty intense.
